Allein oder als Anführer einer Armee? Aufleveln oder das Netz der Intrigen entwirren? Auch wenn ich nur ein ganz normaler Student bin, in diesem Spiel gehöre ich zu den besten Kämpfern, die es gibt. Über Champions und Mobs konnte ich schon oft genug triumphieren—jetzt jedoch muss ich mich mit den Göttern messen.

Mit vierzehn war ich stolzer Champion der Virtuellen Gladiator Games. Mit achtzehn hatte ich keinen Pfennig in der Tasche und schuftete in einem Warenlager. Früher konnte ich mich vor Mädchen kaum retten. Jetzt rümpften sie verächtlich die Nasen, wenn sie mich nur sahen. Das Leben gab mir die Chance zu einem Comeback. Doch in diesem Spiel heißt es Triumph oder Untergang!

Der Nekromanten-Clan machte das, was er am besten konnte: Chimären erschaffen und die Ausgeburten der Befleckung töten. Aber das, was für die einen wie eine Bedrohung für die ganze Welt aussah, war für andere zu einem erfolgreichen Geschäftsmodell geworden. Deswegen sah sich Max Richter nicht nur mit Kreatiuren der Herde, sondern auch mit Monstern in menschlicher Gestalt konfrontiert.

Vor tausend Jahren tauchte die Befleckung in der Welt auf. Sie vergiftete die Erde und verwandelte Menschen und Tiere in fürchterliche Mutanten. Nur Nekromanten konnten ihr Einhalt gebieten.
