ณ สถานที่ซึ่งมีบ้านของผู้คนที่ยากจนตั้งเรียงรายอยู่นั้น มีบ้านที่อยู่สูงและเล็กที่สุดและอยู่ในสภาพที่ย่ำแย่ ในนั้นมีผู้เข็ญใจอาศัยอยู่ในห้องใต้หลังคาซึ่งทรุดโทรมที่สุด ด้านนอกหน้าต่างมีกรงนกบุบๆ แขวนเอาไว้ และมีคอขวดที่กลับหัวซึ่งมีจุกค็อกอยู่ด้านล่างเพื่อปิดรูเอาไว้

เรื่องเริ่มต้นที่เจ้าหญิงเงือกน้อย หลงรักเจ้าชายรูปงาม จึงไปขอพรจากนางแม่มด ให้ตัวเองมีขา เพื่อจะได้อยู่เคียงข้างเจ้าชาย หลังดื่มน้ำยาเปลี่ยนร่าง เสียงของเธอหายไป และถูกนางแม่มดตัดลิ้น

นานมาแล้วยังมีพ่อค้าคนหนึ่งที่ร่ำรวยมหาศาล ขนาดที่สามารถนำเหรียญเงินมาปูตรอกซอกซอยที่อยู่ต่อจากถนนได้จนเต็มต่อมาเมื่อเขาตายลงลูกชายของเขาก็ได้สมบัติทั้งหมดไป เขาออกเที่ยวเตร่ทุกคืน จนในที่สุดเงินที่มีก็หมดลง เขาเหลือติดตัวเพียงเพนนีเดียว มีเพียงเสื้อคลุมและรองเท้าแตะเก่าๆ เพื่อนพากันตีจาก ทว่ามีคนหนึ่งซึ่งยังมีใจกรุณาได้ส่งกระเป๋าเดินทางใบเก่าๆ มา และมันเป็นกระเป๋าที่แปลกประหลาดที่สุด เพราะมันบินได้ ในที่สุดกระเป๋าก็ได้พาเขามาถึงดินแดนของชาวเติร์ก และได้พบกับเจ้าหญิงแสนสวย… มาติดตามฟังกันว่าชายหนุ่มจะทำให้เจ้าหญิงประทับใจได้อย่างไร
