This is a story from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes V collection. Dr Watson comments: 'The stage lost a fine actor' when Holmes chose to devote his formidable talents to the solution of crime. Two of these stories, "The Reigate Squire" and "The Adventure of Beryl Coronet", Sherlock Holmes demonstrates his thespian powers as he unravels the mysteries.

"A Scandal in Bohemia" was the first of Arthur Conan Doyle's 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories to be published in The Strand Magazine. Holmes did not think much of the "fair sex" until the met a character in this story, Irene Adler, who became to him "the woman".

In these four tales from Sherlock Holmes's case book, we find the great detective summoned to investigate the mysterious bones which just won't stay buried at Shoscombe Old Place. We see him deducing why a hitherto devoted lion should have turned savagely on its keeper.

Vier Elitesoldaten der Union melden per Notruf einen Crash auf Seltus-3. Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson begleiten den Ersten Offizier Tornot, um nach Überlebenden zu suchen. Diese zeigen Verhaltensänderungen, welche Holmes auf den Kontakt mit einem fremden Metall zurückführt. Bald werden sie bösartig.

Holmes und Dr. Watson erhalten ein seltsam gereimtes Gedicht, indem von fünf Freunden berichtet wird. Der Verfasser schwört Rache zu nehmen, für die erlittenen Schmerzen, Schmach und Häme. Gleich darauf taucht das erste, auf grausame Weise, getötete Opfer auf. Nun gilt es für Holmes und Dr. Watson schnell die Identität zu klären, doch da erhalten die Beiden bereits das zweite Gedicht und somit auch das zweite Opfer. Die Zeit rennt, denn der Täter mordet in einem wahnsinnigen Tempo. Auch nach dem dritten Opfer fehlen Holmes und Watson jegliche Anhaltspunkte.

Nachdem Holmes und Watson das Rätsel um die Identität des ersten Opfers glücklicherweise rasch klären konnten, dauert es nicht lange und die beiden erhalten ein weiteres Gedicht. Anhand der Reime ist für Holmes schnell klar, wo der Mann zu finden sein wird. Doch kommen Sie auch hier zu spät! Holmes und Watson hoffen nun, schnellstmöglich eine Verbindung zwischen den Opfern herstellen zu können, um weitere Morde zu verhindern.

Während Holmes und Watson Himmel und Hölle in Bewegung setzen, um Alice noch rechtzeitig zu finden, sieht sie sich mit den tödlichen Schatten ihrer Vergangenheit konfrontiert.

Aufregung in einem luxuriösen Wohnblock auf Quirx-13: Harmlose Haustiere fielen einem Tiermörder zum Opfer. Sherlock Holmes soll mit Hilfe Dr. Watsons verhindern, dass der Täter sich menschliche Opfer sucht.

Ein vierter Brief erreicht die Baker Street. Mit zitternden Händen öffnet Watson den Umschlag. Ein Bild fällt zu Boden. Watson bückt sich, hebt es auf und erstarrt. Alice!

Ein genialer Physiker ist spurlos verschwunden. Die Union vermutet, er habe seine Geisteskraft in den Dienst von Feinden gestellt. An Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson liegt es nun, dem Gerücht nachzugehen und ihn ehestmöglich aufzufinden.

Ein drittes Gedicht! Ein drittes Foto! Ein drittes Opfer! Die Zeit rennt und Holmes und Watson sind dem Täter noch nicht einen einzigen Schritt nähergekommen. Selbst die Identität der neuerlichen Leiche bleibt ungeklärt. Während die beiden in die Jahre gekommenen Männer beginnen, mit sich selbst zu hadern, ist der Mörder bereits seinem vierten und letzten Opfer auf der Spur.

Das überaus verlockende Angebot, das dem jungen Börsenmakler Hall Pycroft unterbreitet wird, ist fast zu schön, um wahr zu sein: Er soll mehr als das Doppelte seines Jahresgehalts erhalten und zudem noch Geschäftsmanager der "Franco-Midland Company, Limited" werden, einer neugegründeten Aktiengesellschaft, die sich auf Stahl- und Eisenwaren spezialisiert hat. Unsicher, ob er das Wagnis eingehen und nach Birmingham ziehen soll, wendet er sich um Rat an Sherlock Holmes. Der Detektiv aus der Baker Street 221B wittert rasch eine ganz üble Schurkerei...

Sherlock Holmes is handed a blackmail case shortly before Christmas. Usurer Jacob Marley must pay 10,000 pounds if he wishes to avoid any damages. Holmes and Watson get to work on the investigation.
