"Gulliver's Travels" is a novel by Jonathan Swift: Gulliver's Travels, or Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships is a prose satire of 1726 by the Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift, satirising both human nature and the "travellers' tales" literary subgenre. It is Swift's best known full-length work, and a classic of English literature. Swift claimed that he wrote Gulliver's Travels "to vex the world rather than divert it".

Great Expectations is the thirteenth novel by Charles Dickens and his penultimate completed novel, that depicts the education of an orphan nicknamed Pip (a bildungsroman). It is Dickens's second novel, after David Copperfield, to be fully narrated in the first person. The novel was first published as a serial in Dickens's weekly periodical All the Year Round, from 1 December 1860 to August 1861. In October 1861, Chapman and Hall published the novel in three volumes.

Inspector Lestrade asks for Holmes's help after Charles McCarthy is murdered, and his son, James, is implicated. McCarthy, and another local landowner, John Turner, are both Australian expatriates, and Lestrade was originally engaged by Turner's daughter, Alice, who believes James is innocent. Holmes interviews James, and then inspects the scene of the murder, deducing a third man was present.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson visit "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show", which is on a big tour through the Empire. During the show, however, one of the Performers, who was acting as Ghost Dog, Chief of the Lakota tribe, mysteriously falls from his horse and succumbs to his injuries. Colonel William F. Cody instructs Holmes to investigate the incident.

Silver Blaze, one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by Sir Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is one of 12 in the cycle collected as The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle ranked "Silver Blaze" 13th in a list of his 19 favourite Sherlock Holmes stories. Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson travel by train to Dartmoor to investigate a crime of disappearance of the great race horse Silver Blaze and the murder of the horse's trainer, John Straker.

A fire erupts in the Chapel, which the Friars are able to extinguish. However, the Confessionals can still take place. Meanwhile Holmes has contact with an important witness.

After the weather finally settled down, Watson is able to take the train back to Twickenham. Reunited, Watson and Holmes share their recent and crucial findings.

While studying the Chronicles of the Convent Holmes finds out about secret rooms, hidden within the walls of the Abbey. And in fact, Watson and Holmes find a secret corridor.

Watson is taking on the dangerous hike to Teddington. Accompanied by a mule, he pits himself against the forces of nature.

The Anglican Priest from Teddington visits, as promised, the Abbey. Their meeting, however, is overshadowed by another death.

Holmes and Watson are at the perpetrator's will, while the accomplice is setting the Abbey alight. They are in a desperate and futile situation. But Holmes has an ace up his sleeve.

After finally reaching the Redeemer's Abbey, the Abbot welcomes them and promptly fills them in about the gruesome details concerning the murder of Brother Emanuel.

Holmes does not buy into the Vicar's suicide. Alongside Watson he continues the investigation and uncovers a secret that sheds new light on the case.

December in Baker Street, Watson is trying to fill the house with the Christmas Spirit but his plans are soon crushed, when Inspector Lestrade proposes a strange case to Holmes.

With the help of the priest, Watson investigates Brother Emanuel's abandoned house, where he makes a vital discovery. The Blizzard, however, still keeps him from going back to the Abbey.

After a discussion with the Abbot and his Vicar, Watson begins to understand the importance of the veneration of Virgin Mary within the Catholic church. While Holmes's interests wander towards the Abbey's rich collection of relics.

The Confession brings no further clues. After Brother Nicholas promises key information, Holmes and Watson are visiting the impressive and ancient Library.

Inspector Lestrade is asking each and every Friar to take part in an interrogation, led by Inspector Lestrade. Holmes and Watson are only asked to assist. However the questioning does not turn out the way the Inspector expected.
