Back on the planet’s surface, whilst battling hostile jungle and swamp monsters, Venna is receiving painful psychic communications from Shelly - she’s alive! But how will Venna get to Prime City so she can rescue her?

Livid at Venna’s escape, the Countess tries another tack involving Controller Zoltan and the ‘fresh-off-ice’ recruit Marla. Aboard a stolen droner it’s not exactly plain sailing, and another bumpy landing is imminent - Clayton can help, but can he get over his Krog prejudices in time?
