Historien om Joshua French och Tjostolv Moland i Kongo är en mörk historia i alltför många akter om två män som vill genomföra sin dröm. Men när de försöker uppnå sina mål grusas förhoppningarna och drömmen förvandlas till en mardröm. De två unga männen hade aldrig kunna ana att vad som började som ett projekt med de bästa intentioner, skulle sluta med mord. I Nordisk kriminalkrönika berättar poliser själva om sina mest uppmärksammade, omskakande, och svåra fall.

Natten den 23 augusti 2008, söder om Trondheims centrum, kör ett par upp för Ringålvegen. Plötsligt ser de en bil vid sidan av vägen, och en mans överkropp som väller ut från förarsätet. De stannar snabbt till och närmar sig den okända mannen, kanske är han sjuk eller kanske har han varit med om en trafikolycka? Men när paret kommer fram och ser vad mannen utsatts för råder inga tvivel; han har blivit mördad. Men vem är kapabel till ett sådant brutalt mord? Och kan polisen hitta den skyldige innan någon annan råkar illa ut.

Poliser ser mycket blod i sina dagar, men den lilla lägenhet i Helsingfors de kom in i denna oktobertorsdag var ändå bland det värsta de sett. Bland allt blod fann de en ung kvinna som blivit brutalt mördad. Polisen börjar genast utreda brottet. Offret hade bott ensam i lägenheten, men det ska visa sig att hennes före detta make bor på andra sidan gatan med sin nya fästmö. Genom förhör och intervjuer målas ett triangeldrama av sällan skådat slag upp, och det är svårt för polisen att avgöra vad sanningen är, när beskyllningar studsar åt alla håll.

Under 1980-talet var nynazismen på stark framväxt i Skandinavien. Flera uppmärksammade våldsdåd sker, och många av förövarna är unga män. År 1981 avrättades två unga män i norska Hadeland. Förövarna var tre unga nynazister. De tre unga männen, Espen och John som båda var 20 år gamla, samt Johnny som var 18 år, kom alla tre från konservativa hem, två av familjerna hade gamla kopplingar till nazismen. De hade också något annat gemensamt, alla tre var väldigt vapenintresserade.
