"Il giro del mondo in ottanta giorni" è forse il più noto tra i romanzi di Jules Verne, fonte di numerosi adattamenti televisivi e cinematografici. Il protagonista è un inglese vittoriano di nome Phileas Fogg che, per scommessa con i soci del suo club londinese, si imbarca nell'avventura di fare il giro del mondo in non più di ottanta giorni.

Étrangement nos aventuriers découvrent une caisse remplie d'un nécessaire de survie (armes, munitions, outils...) qui va les aider à s'installer.

Die atemberaubende Suche Lord Glenarvans nach dem verschollenen Kapitän Grant ist eine Weltreise voller Abenteuer, dramatischer Wendungen und wunderbarer Rettungen. Wie so oft in Jules Vernes Werken erfahren wir aber auch hier eine ganze Menge über die Flora und Fauna Patagoniens, Südamerikas und Australiens.

Although published under the name of Jules Verne, “In the Year 2889” is now believed to be chiefly, if not entirely, the work of Jules' son, Michel Verne. In any event, many of the topics in the story echo Verne's ideas. A rather humorous look at the future.

The rail line in India ends earlier than was reported so they hire an elephant for the 50-mile gap during which they rescue a young women even though it slows them down. They encounter many exciting and frustrating events in far flung cities around the world.
