We are face to face with this great world, and our relations to it are manifold. For there is a crucial distinction between what one knows and what one has established as a position. Led astray by formulas of improvement, human beings lose the strength of their established position. The established position is derived from the essence of their ETHOS and not from the achievement of expediencies for survival.
