ثمة تراثٌ أثري فريد من نوعه يلخّص فترات الحضارات المتعاقبة على الإمارات، وكيف امتلك الإنسان القديم فنّاً راقياً في التواصل مع الطبيعة وثقافة مهيبة ربما استفادها من حضارات أخرى بحكم التنقل والترحال، ولا شك أن النقوش الصخرية كشفت عن نبوغ ذلك الإنسان، كما امتلكت الجبال المنعزلة كجبل حفيت والبحايص والفاية وجبل مليحة مقومات الحياة كاملة قبل آلاف السنين. هذا الكتاب نتاج تأمّل داخل أفلاك الحجر والصحراء والماء والذات، يأخذك في رحلة بحث سرد حكائي أنثروبولوجي استقصائي إلى جماليات المكان الإماراتي منذ أزمنة التكوين البيئي، وإلى خيال الإنسان القديم الذي أصغى وانغمس في جوهر المخلوقات، وخلق تفاهماً ضمنياً فنياً مع طبيعتها وأجسادها.

إِذَا رُمْتُ مِنْ لَيْلَى عَلَى البُعْدِ نَظْرَةً تُطَفِّي جَوىً بَيْنَ الحَشَا وَالأَضَالِعِ تَقُولُ نِسَاءُ الحَيِّ تَطْمَعُ أَنْ تَرَى مَحَاسِنَ لَيْلَى مُتْ بِدَاءِ المَطَامِعِ وَكَيْفَ تَرَى لَيْلَى بِعَيْنٍ تَرَى بِهَا سِوَاهَا وَمَا طَهَّرْتَهَا بِدُمُوعِ وَتَلْتَذُّ مِنْهَا بِالحَدِيثِ وَقَدْ جَرَى حَدِيثُ سِوَاهَا فِي خُرُوقَ المَسَامِعِ أُجِلُّكِ يَا لَيْلَى عَنِ العَيْنِ إِنَّمَا أَرَاكِ بِقَلْبٍ خَاشِعٍ لَكِ خَاضِعِ

أَلَا أَبْلِغْ عَلَيْكَ أَبَا دُلَامَهْ فَلَسْتَ مِنَ الكِرَامِ وَلَا كَرَامهْ إِذَا لَبِسَ العِمَامَةَ كَانَ قِرْداً وَخِنْزِيراً إِذَا نَزَعَ العِمَامَهْ جَمَعْتَ دَمَامَةً وَجَمَعْتَ لُؤْماً كَذَاكَ اللُؤْمُ تَتْبَعُهُ الدَّمَامَهْ فَإِنْ تَكُ قَدْ أَصَبْتَ نَعِيمَ دُنْيَا فَلَا تَفْرَحْ فَقَدْ دَنَتِ القِيَامَهْ

إِنِّي تَفَرَّسْتُ فِيكَ الخَيْرَ أَعْرِفُهُ وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ أَنْ مَا خَانَنِي البَصَرُ أَنْتَ النَّبِيُّ وَمَنْ يُحْرَمْ شَفَاعَتَهُ يَوْمَ الحِسَابِ فَقَدْ أَزْرَى بِهِ القَدَرُ فَثَبَّتَ اللهُ مَا آتَاكَ مِنْ حَسَنٍ تَثْبِيتَ مُوسَى وَنَصْراً كَالَّذِي نُصِرُوا يَا آلَ هَاشِمَ إِنَّ اللهَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى البَرِيَّةِ فَضْلاً مَا لَهُ غِيَرُ

أَلَسْتِ أَحْسَنَ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى قَدَمٍ يَا أَمْلَحَ النَّاسِ كُلِّ النَّاسِ إِنْسَانَا طَارَ الفُؤَادُ مَعَ الخَوْدِ الَّتِي طَرَقَتْ فِي النَّوْمِ طَيِّبَةَ الأَعْطَافِ مِبْدَانَا إِنَّ العُيُونَ الَّتِي فِي طَرْفِهَا حَوَرٌ قَتَلْنَنَا ثُمَّ لَمْ يُحْيِينَ قَتْلَانَا يَصْرَعْنَ ذَا اللُبِّ حَتَّى لَا حَرَاكَ بِهِ وَهُنَّ أَضْعَفُ خَلْقِ اللهِ أَرْكَانَا لَقَدْ كَتَمْتُ الهَوَى حَتَّى تَهَيَّمَنِي لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ لِهَذَا الحُبِّ كِتْمَانَا

إِنْ يَخْدِمِ القَلَمَ السَّيْفُ الَّذِي خَضَعَتْ لَهُ الرِّقَابُ وَدَانَتْ خَوْفَهُ الأُمَمُ فَالمَوْتُ وَالمَوْتُ لَا شَيْءٌ يُغَالِبُهُ مَا زَالَ يَتْبَعُ مَا يَجْرِي بِهِ القَلَمُ كَذَا قَضَى اللهُ لِلْأَقْلَامِ مُذْ بُرِيَتْ أَنَّ السُّيُوفَ لَهَا مُذْ أُرْهِفَتْ خَدَمُ

Songs of Kabir is a book from 1915 consisting of 100 poems of Kabir, the 15th century Indian poet and mystic, translated to English by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

These poems are English interpretations of poems originally written in Urdu and Punjabi. Interpretations are not translations. The interpretations capture the essence of the poem rather than the form and specifics of the original language.

Twelve years - that's how long the prophet Almustafa has been waiting for the ship that is to take him back home.
