Knud Rasmussen er en af danmarkshistoriens største opdagelsesrejsende, og hans skildringer af ekspeditionerne til Grønland er blandt de bedste og mest spændende rejseskildringer. I denne samling af tre af hans største værker fortæller Knud Rasmussen blandt andet om sin deltagelse i "Den danske literære Grønlands-Ekspedition" i 1903-1904 samt ekspeditionen tværs over indlandsisen med Peter Freuchen i 1912-1913.
