Das war abzusehen. Nach all der Gehirnwäsche, den körperlichen Strapazen und dem Hochgenuß von hundert Jahre altem Kuchen, landet die gesamte Belegschaft der Firma inklusive Heff im Krankenhaus. Zwischen tonnenweise Beruhigungsmitteln, verschrobenen Patienten, einem leicht labilen Vertreter der Armee-Versicherung, einer sadistischen Krankenschwester und dem Doktor, der seinen Namen nicht nennen will, erleben Heff und seine Mannen was es heist, sich mit dem Gesundheitssystem anzulegen. Nicht einmal Heffs Fische bleiben davon verschont.

Als Heff, der Chef von einer zweitägigen Geschäftsreise zurück in seine Firma kommt, trifft ihn der Schlag in Form einer wahren Lawine aus Müll. Schnell ist klar, dass seine Jungs dieses Chaos nie und nimmer bewältigen können, selbst wenn die Vermieterin noch so sehr mit der Kündigung der Räumlichkeiten droht. Also beschliesst der größenwahnsinnige Heff im ersten Putzfrauen-Casting der Welt eine Reinigungsfachkraft für seine Firma zu ermitteln.

Seit Wochen knabbern Heffs Angestellte höchstens noch das Schwarze unter den Fingernägeln weg, denn ihr Chef, der einen ausgeprägten Sinn für Personalführung vermissen lässt, gibt sein Geld lieber für Fallen aus als für Nahrung seiner unterbezahlten Angestellten. Der Hunger treibt Heffs Angestellten schlussendlich zum Kühlschrank der Vermieterin, die von diesem Akt des Mundraubs allerdings alles andere als begeistert ist.

Es reicht. Und zwar sowas von! Die Angestellten tanzen Heff buchstäblich auf der Nase, die Vermieterin droht mit Kuchen, der mindestens so alt ist wie sie selbst und Heff weiss einfach nicht mehr weiter. Die Lösung offenbart sich ihm in Form des ehemaligen Militärausbilders Mr. Voll. Denn Mr. Voll ist voll toll. Dass Mr. Voll aber auch voll einen an der Klatsche hat, davon wusste Heff vorher nichts.

Der Hunger macht auch vor Heff, dem Chef nicht halt. Doch alles Essbare, was noch in der Firma zu finden ist, sind das Fischfutter für die beiden Fische Rich und Sharky – und die Fische selbst. Für Heff gibt es keinen Zweifel, wer hier den Kürzeren zieht. Immerhin ist er der Chef und die Fische eben nur Fische. Seine Fische. Für die er teures Geld bezahlt hat. In einem Zustand geistiger Umnachtung beschliesst der sich im Fischfutterrausch befindende Heff völlig entgegen seiner Überzeugung Geld auszugeben und ein Firmenfahrzeug zu kaufen.
