La scenografia è tortuosa, tra Catanzaro, Lamezia e Vibo. La coreografia è mossa dalla faida di clan e malavita. Qui, Angela Donato, diciassettenne, gira armata e vende armi e liquori di contrabbando, proiettata verso l'illegalità senza temere l'impazienza dei grandi boss: la morte è un rischio troppo frequente per averne paura. Poi nasce l'amore e Angela si rifugia nella famiglia e in una vita "pulita". Nascono tre figli. A Santo, l'unico figlio maschio, viene imposto di studiare in collegio per tenerlo lontano dalla violenza della piana lametina.
