Es increible como un ensayo corto, escrito hace tanto por Unamuno pueda ser tan actual. En La Feliz Ignorancia Miguel de Unamuno escribe con perspicaz escarnio de escritores, de famosos y aspirantes a famosos, que se desenvolvian en la total ignorancia en su tiempo, y aun peor, que se enorgullecian de ello.

El poder oratorio y persuasivo del que gozan muchos políticos de profesión, puede responder a una base literaria, al conocimiento de los libros y el amor por las letras que han aprendido a usar para fines partidarios. Más allá de estos afanes partidarios, sus opciones políticas y su honestidad (o la falta de ella), es cierto que muchos de ellos comparten el mismo amor por las letras que los literatos.
