"A Little Princess" is a 1905 children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It is a revised and expanded version of Burnett's 1888 serialized novel entitled "Sara Crewe: or, What Happened at Miss Minchin's Boarding School", which was published in St. Nicholas Magazine.

Attending a school for young ladies, the ever-changing fortunes of Sara Crewe are embellished by her lively imagination. Along the way she invites some wonderfully memorable characters to join her in her fantasies.

Sara Crewe is one of the most vivid figures in children's fiction. Born in India and sent to school in England, she is, at first, treated like a princess by the teacher, Miss Minchin. But when it is evident that Sara is not the possessor of a princess's fortune, she is dispatched to live in the attic and become a servant.

Sara Crew is the spoiled little daughter of rich parents. After her mother's death, she is sent to a "Select Seminary For Young Ladies". Then, Sara suddenly loses her father and money and faces the misery of existing on charity.

Sarah Crewe is treated like a princess at Miss Minchin's boarding school - until her father dies, leaving her peniless. Now she must struggle as a servant to evil Miss Minchin, but the intellgent, kind-hearted girl never loses hope. From her garrett, she soon makes friends and finds incredible adventures. And good will and imagination ultimately triumph by this book's glorious ending. This beloved classic has been continuously in publication since 1905.
