In Episode 7 of the Welcome Home Podcast, I sit down with Dale Berg—Vietnam veteran and helicopter pilot—who went from being a struggling high school student in San Francisco to flying Hueys in combat. Dale served two tours in Vietnam, and while he downplays it, he has some incredible stories to share. Beyond being a skilled pilot, he’s also a fantastic storyteller.

On this episode of the Welcome Home Podcast I sit down with Sean & Nikki Sweeney. Who's husband and father (respectively) Thomas Joseph Sweeney served in Vietnam as an Aeromedical Evacuation Specialist. We discuss his career as well as Nikki's own personal connection with Vietnam, as she lost her previous husband to direct exposure to Agent Orange at 23 years old. There are some tough moments, some heartwarming moments, and overall I am so grateful for them welcoming me into their home for this interview. On this episode of the Welcome Home Podcast we interviewed Tommy Marshall, a Navy PBR River Rat and Boatswain. He is one of the few who witnessed the bay of pigs invasion in person, as well as raising a family, serving in Vietnam, and finishing his career on the USS Wisconsin in Conflict Desert Storm. Tommy is a purple heart recipient and amputee, just like my grandfather was. Since meeting Tommy, he has been an inspiration for me to work harder, pursue my goals, and not take life for granted.
