• A Mighty Fortress is our God - Psalm 46
    Nov 22 2025
The central theme of Psalm 46 is the assurance of God's protection and presence during crises. We note, that fear is a terrible thing. Fear causes us to settle for second best. Fear may even keep us from answering God’s call. • Living with…Proper Behavior - 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13
    Nov 15 2025
One of the hardest lessons we need to learn is that not many worthwhile things in life are ever given, most have to be earned. It appears that work is part of the plan of God for our lives. The apostle Paul believed this. Work is seen as part of God's perfect creation. Work is not merely as a means of survival, but as a way to participate in God's creative order. • Living with… Faith and staying Strong - 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17
    Nov 8 2025
God has drawn a line in the sand that the devil cannot cross - We must recognize that God’s boundaries not only protect us but also guide us toward righteousness. Paul says that we must be ready for anything that threatens our faith. Paul knew that the Thessalonians would face pressure from persecution, false teachers, worldliness, and apathy, causing them to waver from the truth and possibly to leave the faith. Paul wants us to be “Living with faith, he wants us to stand firm, and he wants us to stay strong. • Living with… Worthiness and Honor - 2 Thessalonians 1:1-6, 11-12
    Nov 1 2025
Paul often encouraged believers to live out grace in their relationships, forgiving one another as God has forgiven each of us. Grace teaches us to let go of bitterness and embrace the freedom that comes from forgiving others. • Living with… Strength, delivered Safely - 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18
    Oct 25 2025
Paul thought he was nearing the end of his life, and so Paul could confidently say that he had been faithful to his call. Paul writes this letter to Timothy. At the same time, it's a reminder to all of us that life is a continuous journey, and until our last breath there is still much to achieve and learn. • Living with… the Scripture inspired by God - 2 Timothy 3:14-17- 4:1-5
    Oct 16 2025
Paul essentially says: don’t give up! Continue to live as you know you should, God is the only one you need to please. He also says: don’t expect false teachers and evil people to reform and change on their own. Left alone, they will go from bad to worse. If you have the opportunity, correct them, give them the opportunity to come back to faith in Christ. • Living with… endurance, and faithfulness - 2 Timothy 2:8-15
    Oct 8 2025
2 Timothy 2:2 tells us: Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others”. This is what Paul told TImothy, but it’s for any leader. Just imagine, if the church were to consistently follow this advice from 2 Timothy 2:2, it would expand geometrically as every well taught believer would teach others and commission them, in turn, to teach still others. • Living with… grace, mercy, and peace - 2 Timothy 1:1-14
    Oct 4 2025
As we live our lives of faith, we may be surrounded by a large crowd or a small group of trusted companions. Whatever the size of our community, we are born with a need to walk this road of life with fellow travelers. We need to “go with” others on the path we have been set upon by what we had learned. We are empowered by those who walk with us, be it family, or close sincere friends. Paul had left Timothy in Ephesus to help the church there. I understand that the idea was to help the church… but I think Timothy ended up being the main leader of the church in Ephesus.
