    Peter told us, we are to be set apart, for we are different, not blending in with the crowd, yet we’re not to be different just for the sake of being different. God’s qualities in our lives makes us different. We must admit that we all desperately need the gift of holiness, a holiness that we cannot manufacture or attain for ourselves. We cannot become holy on our own, but God has given us his Holy Spirit to help us obey and He gives us power to overcome sin. At the same time, we should fear His discipline and therefore seek to live our lives in a way that pleases Him. Reverence ought to be evident in the way believers conduct themselves in God's presence. After all we are all sojourners on this world, wanderers, visiting for a short time on our way to God’s eternal kingdom.     God is present in your Suffering – 1 Peter 1:3-9 Jesus is risen! Indeed, he is Risen, Alleluia! and we shout it with joy. After encountering this reality, how do you feel? During Jesus’ trial Peter denied knowing Jesus. Soon after Jesus died and rose again, Peter repented and became a great apostle and preacher. Nearly everywhere, when I talk to people some are troubled because they do not know that they are secure. They think that because of their sins, their negligence, their failing to endure to the end, or that for some other reason, they may lose their salvation. Many do not realize that God has determined that all who repent and believe in Him have everlasting life and will go to Heaven when they die. When we believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, the Holy Spirit immediately enters our lives. We are sealed for eternity and brought under God’s spiritual protection from that moment on.     The cross represents the ultimate sacrifice, offering hope and forgiveness for humanity's sins, and is a reminder of God's love and grace. No one took Jesus’ life from Him. God had given him a specific task. That task was to lay down his life on behalf of the world. We’ve arrived at Easter Sunday. Throughout the world the light is back, no more darkness. Churches are filled with Christians shouting back and forth “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!” Christ rolled the tombstone away from people's lives to let them be free. Christ sends us, into the very spaces and places we would rather forget. Christ sends us into the very households of people who look, think, and act differently.
