  • Episode 340 - Pamola: The Wandering Spirit of Mt. Katahdin
    Sep 21 2025
High on Maine’s Mt. Katahdin, the Appalachian Trail ends in a place wrapped in mystery—and haunted by a storm spirit. Hikers whisper about sudden fog, eerie moans in the wind, and the sense of eyes watching from the Knife’s Edge ridge. The Wabanaki people know who it is: Pamola, the ancient birdlike guardian said to punish anyone who dares disrespect the mountain. Is he a cryptid, a god, or something else? Spectral moose sightings, violent storms, and eerie winds all carry his name. And when skies turn from clear to chaos in a heartbeat, locals say it’s Pamola reminding you this isn’t just a climb—it’s sacred ground. • Encounters x299 - Paranormal Games and Sleepovers
    Sep 18 2025
September means one thing: spooky season is officially here, and we’re kicking it off with haunted sleepovers and ghostly games—no flashlights allowed. Childhood dares spiral into chilling encounters, sinister figures linger long after the night ends, and sometimes it feels like the ghosts just want to play too. Stories include: A ghostly little girl in a white nightgown joins a basement game of hide-and-seek and sticks around for years of playful hauntings. A listener wakes to a shadowy figure inches from her face at a sleepover, and days later, an eerie entity is spotted in the same house. A bathroom seance and a game of Bloody Mary summons something dark. A ‘haunted trail’ birthday game is interrupted by a girl with no legs near a cursed tree. And to make things extra spooky, we’re joined by Cassidy and Amanda of Drinking the Koolaid, who close out the episode with their own unforgettable paranormal encounters, including a dangerous attempt at astral projection. • Episode 339 - The Black Monk of Pontefract: a Poltergeist Haunting
    Sep 14 2025
Welcome to Britain’s most haunted house — 30 East Drive in Pontefract — where a seemingly ordinary family home turned into a prison of nightmares. What started with mysterious puddles, floating dust clouds, and furniture that moved on its own quickly escalated into full-blown poltergeist chaos. Known by the Pritchard family as Fred, the Black Monk of Pontefract wasn’t just mischievous — it was terrifying, violent, and maybe even hungry (yes, this spirit snacked on sandwiches). From eggs exploding mid-air to priests fleeing after failed exorcisms, the Pritchard family lived through a haunting so wild it inspired an actual horror film. But in between the chills, there are moments so bizarre they’re almost funny — like disembodied fur gloves conducting a hymn sing-along. Still, the poltergeist’s obsession with teenage Diane, culminating in a nightmarish attempt to drag her away, proved this was no harmless prankster.
