We enjoyed having actor, producer, director Chuck Bush back on the show and learning about his newest venture; Cajun Lifestyle Network. Chuck has creatively put together the stories, industries, food, fishing and more through this network exposing us to all things Louisiana/Cajun culture. It is a multi-faceted endeavor and the flagship show is Out Da' Bayou which can be seen on the Discovery Channel and starting next month on Feild & Stream TV as well as Pursuit TV. What is special about this project is how it brings in a broader focus on the often misunderstood Cajun/Louisana culture. This network is all about the people, the family business', the living off the land, history, art, music, food and more and put all together it is a great conclusion that real community still exists in todays fast and crazy culture. Poet, author, farmer, philosopher, activist, conservationist Wendell Berry passed a couple of weeks ago at the age of 94. Within those 94 years Wendell demonstrated something rare amoung most. He was unwavering in belief of that in which he wrote about over decades of writing and he didn't just write about it, he lived it. He had much to say about how the simple life is the best life and how to have separated people away from the ground from which they stand would yeild nothing but more troubles for which we would over complicate the solutions. He believed in being those things for which you want to see. His words are valuable for all time, maybe especially now as antiquated as it may seem to most, one cannot say he was wrong.We hope there will be more that will pick up a Wendell Berry book for poems, essays or fiction for great food for thought. Wendell was intrumental in the farm to table movement, the homestead movements and more but he himself was not a fan of movements.

When a scheduled guest had a last minute situation come up the Two Broads had to decide quickly whether to not record at all since no other topic was at hand or to wing it. Of course we chose to wing it making for a conversation that flowed in and out of very random topics. Travel, books, book binding and organ harvesting is a pretty good teaser on the show about nothing. As random and weird as it is there is actually some very good food for thoughts strewn about.
