  • Well-Rounded vs. Specialized: Multi-Hyphenate Hustle & Candy Trends 🍫🤖
    Nov 4 2025

Is it better to be well-rounded or deeply specialized? 360 Ready or Specialist Energy?

Don & Kelly debate the multi-hyphenate hustle, “craft-maxing,” and how to guide kids toward college apps (hello Star vs Spike). We detour into wild candy trends (Dubai chocolate, freeze-dried Skittles, chocolate cotton candy?!), muse about AI/robots and jobs, relationship boundaries (can you hang with an opposite-sex friend?), and close with

Things We Loved: Bo Burnham: Make Happy and that jaw-dropping Louvre robbery story.

If you’re a parent, creator, or recovering specialist, this one hits.

  • Kelly & Don Talk Teen Interviews, Interview Tips, and Moms Returning to Work
    Oct 28 2025

In this episode, Don and Kelly tackle two very real stages of life — helping your teen prep for interviews (College interviews anyone?), Interview Tips, and re-entering the workforce after years of parenting — with the usual Two Awesome People mix of laughs, honesty, and off-topic detours.

👔 Part 1 — Teen Interview Tips (Without Losing Your Mind)
Teens today have to interview for everything: high-school programs, first jobs, even clubs. But how do you teach your kid to show confidence instead of chaos? K&D share their favorite coaching tricks — “be authentic, not perfect,” “stand confident, not stiff,” and “don’t coach in the car!” — plus the importance of storytelling over robotic answers.

🔥 Pop-Culture Break: The Group Seven Phenomenon
Kelly explains the viral “Group 7” TikTok trend that turned one random video into an exclusive club for cool kids. Don tries to decode it. Together, they connect how fleeting online fame mirrors teen pressure to “perform” in interviews instead of being themselves.

💼 Part 2 — Women Reentering the Workforce
Kelly opens up about the weird mix of confidence, guilt, and reinvention that comes with returning to work after years at home. They discuss why “stay-at-home mom” shouldn’t feel like a résumé gap, how to translate parenting skills into workplace strengths, and why society still undervalues family.

    🎯 Takeaways:
    • Teens need reps, not lectures.
    • Parents: sneak in life skills without oversharing your nerves.
    • Women: you didn’t lose value — you gained perspective.
    • Confidence at any age = comfort in your own skin.

🎧 Stick around for “What We Loved This Week”: Don reviews Michelle Wolf’s Netflix special “The Well,” and Kelly recommends the ultimate family card-game battle — Skip-Bo.

  • Make Your Bedrooms Awesome
    Oct 14 2025

Kelly opens with “Welcome to our OnlyFans—JK, a podcast,” and it only gets spicier from there.

This week, Don and Kelly are in the same room (finally) talking bedrooms: how to design kids’ rooms that reflect personality (string lights, disco balls, Pokémon stars), why everything needs a home (goodbye floor-toy chaos), and how to include your kid so they actually love their space. For shared rooms, they brainstorm split-wall color hacks and ways to keep the peace without picking a “favorite child.”

Then it’s on to adult bedrooms: ditching the bland beige, adding color + texture, fewer pillows (sorry, sham lovers), mixing furniture instead of matchy-matchy sets, using vertical height for small spaces, and low-budget upgrades with thrift flips and repurposed pieces.

Also on deck: Kelly’s “move the bed, change your life” chi talk, Don’s hotel-facing-sun neurosis, and the official rebrand from pharmo-maxing to soap-maxing (teen boys, take notes).

Plus: the slang mini-lesson on “maxing” (looks-maxing to fiber-maxing—help), Don’s wildly specific handshake parenting, and a tap-out that salutes Front Row Amy and the Aussie legal comedy Fisk.

Come for the design tips, stay for the clapping-into-rooms bit and the reminder that you can refresh a space without blowing the budget. Clap in, vibe up, rearrange.
