  • Back to Basics: The Word
    Dec 23 2025

Welcome back To the Table. Today’s focus is the Word – reading, studying, memorizing – all of it. You’ll hear this soon, but being the Word brings us to a place of worship. It refocuses our hearts and draws us into a deeper relationship with the Lord. I hope you’re encouraged to jump in – whether you’ve been studying the Word for the last 20 years or you’ve never read it for yourself.

    Show Notes 🗒️

Philippians 1:6 - And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Psalm 139:5 - You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

1 John 4:19 - We love because He first loved us.

Acts 20:35 - ...and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

  • Back to Basics: Rest
    Dec 10 2025

Welcome back To the Table. Thank you for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today’s practice may seem like no big deal, but it often ends up being left off the list. We’re talking about rest. As we’re learning today, there’s a lot of different kinds of rest, but they all originate from the Father. Jesus himself tells us to come to Him, if we’re tired and weary, and he will give us the rest we need and long for. There are so many scriptures and resources mentioned in this episode, so be sure to check out the show notes for more info.

    Show Notes 🗒️

Exodus 33:12-17 - Moses said to the Lord, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?” And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

Psalm 62:1-2 - For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Isaiah 30:15 - For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”...

Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

  • Back to Basics: Thankfulness & Giving
    Nov 26 2025

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today’s practices are thankfulness & giving – which really helps grow our relationship with the Lord as we refocus on his goodness and trust that he always provides – He is Jehovah Jireh, after all. There's a ton of practical ways to practice these 2 disciplines, so grab something to write with, or get ready to make a mental note, and join us for this week’s episode.

    Show Notes 🗒️

2 Corinthians 9:7-12 - Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

  • Back to Basics: Community
    Nov 19 2025

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. We’re kicking off our spiritual practices series with a conversation about community. We were created to live in community with others – and this episode dives into so much about why and how we do that.

    Show Notes 🗒️

Hebrews 10:23-25 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Philippians 2:1-5 - So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.

  • Why We Don't
    Nov 12 2025

Welcome back To the Table. Thanks for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today we’re talking about all the things that might stop us from pursuing spiritual disciplines. We’ve added some encouragement for you (and ourselves) in there too, so come join us as we unpack just why we don’t (fill in the blank – pray, study, praise, etc.)

    Show Notes 🗒️

John 15: 4-5 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Philippians 2:13 - for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
