    “Clues in the name, bud. The Sirens Call was the original moniker locals gave this place, said it housed something deep in the pit that fed off of those with weak wills. Used the voices of those they loved to entice them in and devour them. Natives said it was an evil spirit and told the authorities to seal the cave off, but of course they never did. It became The Wailing Cave some time later to help with tourism and I can’t say I blame ‘em, it sure as hell brought US here.”

    “Your parents, they comin’?” He asked in a calm, low voice. Rosie shook her head, holding the towel tight against her chest. Sighing, the man sat down on the ground next to Rosie.
    “Shit. I mean–” he tried, but Rosie was giggling hysterically already. “You ain’t hear that from me,” he chuckled. The two stayed there a few minutes longer as the man pondered what to do. He tossed out a few quick ideas, like calling CPS or other authorities, but Rosie’s scared eyes told him that that was a very bad idea. Still, he was left with very few choices.

    I know all of you mean well, but I'm getting really tired of being asked about my ascension. I tried to make it clear to you it was a painful subject, but that just seemed to goad you into persisting. I understand that spiritual transcendence sounds like a dream come true, that beholding the face of ultimate reality would give you some sort of inner peace. But it wasn't like that at all. So, although this disturbs me more than you can imagine, I'm finally giving in. I've written this to explain, once and for all, what happened, but after this, no more questions about it, ever, OK? I'm dead serious.
