After I cover the best (MadS) and worst (Oasis of Zombies) in the intro, giving you the top 5 to watch and bottom 5 to avoid, we watch the New Zealand animated web series Bloke of the Apocalypse by Charlie Faulks. It was quirky in an early Adult Swim way, and I enjoyed it so much I wish there was more.

    5/10 watchable for sure

There is a comedy zombie boxed set, you may have seen it, you may know it. On it you will find three zombie comedies, the Christmas themed Stalled from the UK, we liked that one, I survived a zombie holocaust from New Zealand starring friend of the podcast Harley Neville, and this… Me and My Mates versus the Zombie Apocalypse from Australia.

    The premise?

During the Australian zombie apocalypse, Darryl (played by Alex Williamson) - a mid-twenties telecom tradesman - and several of his co-workers get trapped in a telephone exchange. It is a comedy. But, what do we say, dear listeners, about comedy? That for a comedy to be funny the jokes have to land. And they do not always land.

The trailer looks pretty low end. I am thinking Danny Dyer’s Dog House meets New Kids Nitro from the Netherlands. But lets find a review and see if we agree with it.

    It was shit. Not funny

The constant running gag of Daryl wanting to be on roys cricket team – not funny

The constant running gag of Daryl having thrush – not funny

The running gag of Daryl’s tiny cricket bat – not funny

Hitting women zombies and apologising, not funny

    The toolmaster multitool, not funny

Daryl confusing vampires and zombies, not funny

Script was poor, the acting was poor, Jim Jeffries, the main draw, just disappeared, it was like he thought, fuck it, let me die.

    Remember New Kids Nitro?

3.5/10 by far the weakest of the 3 movies on that DVD. No way near as funny as I survived a zombie holocaust, and not as good or original as stalled, and that is set in a womens toilet. But it isn't the worst Australian zombie movie, that award goes to Zombie Brigade from 1988, which looked like it was made in 1978. This was just shit. No wonder Jim Jeffries got out of it half way through.

Avoid. This sucked diarrhea through a bum's sweat sock.

Ho ho ho dear listeners… and we are santa deep in the festive season here… and as everyone sits down with their loved ones to enjoy a rom com after a hefty Christmas dinner, I am doing the same… well not a rom com you understand, this is a rom zom com, a zom rom com, a romantic zomedy… a subgenre of the subgenre we have time for having seen.

    | Shaun Of The Dead | 7.5
    | I Survived a Zombie Holocaust | 7
    | Newtopia | 6.5
    | Warm bodies | 6.5
    | Life After Beth | 6
    | The Last Marriage | 6
    | Dead Heads | 6
    | Burying the Ex | 6

And so to this weeks offering, EAT BRAINS LOVE… I like the title, a play on eat pray love, that everyone in the world owned, it is directed by Timothee Chalomet's uncle Rodman Flender, Based on the 2013 book of the same name by Jeff Hart and is one of the DVDs that will to Michael with my spare region free dvd player… merry Christmas, mate.

Two high school opposites, stoner Jake Stephens and popular cheerleader Amanda Blake, become infected with a virus that turns them into zombie-like cannibals. They travel across the country looking for a cure. Cass, a teenage telepath, and her partner Tom work for a government agency charged with hunting and killing the infected. Cass develops feelings for Jake as they track the high schoolers. Tom dies in an attack, Cass turns against her agency and joins Jake and Amanda, forming a contentious love triangle as they journey forward, still searching for a cure.

5.2/10 on IMDB which isn’t bad

It is a 5/10 for me.

An annoying ending. It had moments but it was poor. The acting, the story, the obvious plot, I mean why have Jake and Cass have voice over but not Amanda? Why not at least take it to the conclusion? Wouldn't watch it again. It would be ok for some.
