About this listen

This is The Small Steps To Wellness Show, a podcast where we discuss how we can achieve more wellness in our lives, one small step at a time.

For the past 8 and a bit years, I have taken a special interest in nutrition and have turned the diet of my family on its head. But as I’ve dived deeper into the world of nutrition, I have learnt that health is so much more than just what we put on our plate and how much we move.

This is why we will be talking nutrition on this podcast, but also mental health, being in alignment, holistic health care, self care, raising children and more. We will be hearing stories of women’s journeys to overcome trauma and what it has taught them on the way. When we share our stories, we realise we are not alone and that things can change for the better.

I’m so glad to have you with me on this journey as I explore what health and wellness truly means.

  • #63 Understanding my menstrual cycle with Miriam Stener
    Apr 4 2025
My guest host Miriam Stener is back and we're talking menstrual cycles.

Did you talk to your parents about menstrual cycles when you first got your period? Or was it something you almost discovered and learnt about on your own, perhaps with your friends? How do you talk to your children about it?

We talk about working with our periods, as opposed to working against it, and that it is ok to take it easy if that's what feels right for you when you're in the middle of your period.

The app Miriam uses to track her cycle is called Stardust. If you too use this app, I'd love to know how you're finding it.

For her exercise, she uses Barre Definition.

None of these are sponsored, just recommendations from Miriam herself because she loves them so much.

  • #62 Women and transitions with Jenny Sumner
    Mar 21 2025
Jenny Sumner and I are having a long overdue chat on this episode of the podcast, and it's all about women, transitions, finding ourselves and being ok with all the changes.

Jenny is an Identity and Mindset Coach and a Holistic Therapist.
Working predominantly with women, Jenny's passion lies in supporting women amidst transition, which, let's face it, is most of our lives. By supporting women to not only consider their needs, but to realise them, guilt free, Jenny supports women to live happier and more fulfilling lives, by shining on their very own throne.

As well as coaching, Jenny is a clinical reflexologist (MAR). Reflexology and coaching go hand in hand, as personal growth can only happen when our bodies feel safe and balanced.

It's funny, because with some people it almost seems impossible to have a surface level conversation, and Jenny is one of those people. Whenever we bump into each other, I find myself going straight in the deep end, and it feels comfortable. I hope this shines through for you in our conversation.

To work with Jenny, please follow her on instagram @berkhamstedreflexology and @jennysumnercoaching, or visit her website www.berkhamstedreflexology.com.
