📖 The Simple Walk – Don’t Walk Alone
Chapter 12: Escape Plans and Empty Cabinets
    Theme Scripture:
“The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” — Psalm 34:10 (KJV)

🌟 In this gripping episode: What do you do when your cabinets are bare… your exit plans feel blocked… and your soul aches for provision, direction, or just a sign that God sees you?

Pastor Barbara Duffey Hammonds shares the honest wrestle of human survival—when even the lions go hungry—but reminds us of the unshakable truth: those who seek the Lord shall not want for any good thing.

Join us on this journey as we explore the moments when the wilderness gets real—but so does God’s faithfulness. Whether you’re living paycheck to paycheck or soul to soul, God’s escape plan has already been drafted. The pantry may be empty, but your purpose is still full.

🔚 Don’t be deceived by what your eyes see—God still provides in famine, protects in fire, and promises rest to the weary.

Your escape plan isn’t in a human hand. It’s written in the promises of the Lord.

Keep walking… even when your cabinets are empty. Because in God’s kingdom, the lack is often where the breakthrough begins.

The Simple Walk: Don’t Walk Alone – Chapter 11 – When Your House Is the War Zone

    Main Verse:
“A man’s enemies shall be they of his own household.”
    Matthew 10:36 (KJV)

    Description:
What happens when your greatest spiritual battles erupt inside the very place that should bring you peace—your home? In this soul-searching and divinely inspired message, Pastor Barbara Duffey Hammonds exposes the truth many believers silently endure: sometimes the war zone is not across the world… it’s across the hallway.

Whether it’s broken marriages, rebellious children, toxic relatives, betrayal by loved ones, or homes filled with fear and silence, this message speaks directly to the hearts of those walking through domestic spiritual warfare. God is not distant. He sees. He hears. And He’s about to restore order, heal trauma, and bring peace into your atmosphere.

Let this Word guide you through the fire, back into authority, and toward the promise of victory—even when the battlefield is behind your own front door.

This chapter is part of The Simple Walk series—specifically the Don’t Walk Alone edition—where personal pain meets prophetic power, and hope is rekindled one Word at a time.

  • Chapter 10 – Wounded at the Altar
    Dec 2 2025
The Simple Walk: Don’t Walk Alone – Chapter 10 – Wounded at the Altar

    🔥 Chapter Overview & Highlights

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend…” Proverbs 27:6
“And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands?” Zechariah 13:6

This chapter cuts deep into one of the hardest truths in the walk of faith: some of the deepest wounds are inflicted within the house of God.

It’s not just the betrayal by the world that breaks us — it’s the altar we trusted. The one we knelt at. The arms that laid hands on us… now bearing thorns. Pastor Barbara Duffey Hammonds walks boldly into this space of silence and stigma, and she declares — you can heal.

Many believers have been wounded by spiritual leaders, church members, or so-called friends who masked manipulation as ministry. But like Jesus, who bore wounds in His hands — wounds misunderstood even by those closest to Him — there is a holy purpose to your pain.

This message is a cry for the spiritually bleeding to stop hiding and start healing. For those who have been shamed in pews, ignored at the altar, or discarded after serving — this Word is for you.

💧 Teaching Points to Reflect On
•Wounds at the altar aren’t always evil — sometimes they are faithful, meant to correct, redirect, and restore. (Proverbs 27:6)
•Jesus was asked about His wounds — and He answered, “I was wounded in the house of my friends.” (Zechariah 13:6)
•Bitterness keeps wounds open. Surrender lets God pour in oil and wine.
•Betrayal by believers isn’t the end of your calling — it may be the beginning of your true assignment.
•If you’ve ever walked away from ministry, the church, or your purpose because of pain inflicted at the altar, it’s time to come home whole.

🙏🏽 Powerful Prayer for Healing from Church Hurt

    Heavenly Father,

You see the bruises beneath our Sunday clothes…
The silent screams behind our hallelujahs…
And the limp in our walk, even as we lead others forward.

We bring You the betrayal, the confusion, the offense, and the loss.
We confess the bitterness — not to justify it — but to be cleansed of it.

We cry out like David: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Let the Holy Spirit soothe what people broke.
Let forgiveness rise where silence reigned.
Let discernment be sharpened so that truth is never mistaken for cruelty again.

    Heal every broken leader…
    Restore every crushed worshipper…
And revive those whose purpose was buried beneath religious wounds.

Let Your oil and wine — like the Good Samaritan poured — flow freely now.
You are the God who never wounds without healing.
Wounded at the altar — but saved by the Cross.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.
