    Feb 10 2026

MiOsc is back, discussing the reality check needed on the benefits of tai chi vs. what you might be seeing on the internet.

You may have seen an influencer online (usually shirtless, usually sporting six-pack abs with veins popping out of his biceps) claiming he got that body from doing a “Tai Chi Walk.” The caption promises that this simple, slow movement is the secret ancient hack to melting belly fat and getting shredded.

Reality check. That guy did not get that body from Tai Chi.

There are some incredible benefits to tai chi, but six-pack abs aren’t among them. Oscar and I discuss the true benefits of tai chi and the importance of community during turbulent times… like this one. Join us on youtube to watch our musings, and feel free to leave kind comment.

  • 442. Michael Winslow on the importance of sound and Spaceballs!
    Jan 20 2026

It’s not every day you get to chat with a voicetramentalist. I’m speaking about none other than actor and comedian Michael Winslow.

Michael had breakout performances in the 1980s Police Academy franchise and quickly became known as the Man of 10,000 Sound Effects and was featured in one of my favorite comedies, Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs.

Michael and I are old friends. It was so much fun to talk with him about beatboxing, sound as an artform, and the importance of evolving.

And in case you are wondering, YES! He does sound effects throughout this conversation. Tune in on Youtube also to watch us in person at the Wah Lum Cultural Center!

  • 441. Catching up with Greg Rucka
    Jan 13 2026

The Mimi and Greg Show 2026! In this episode, I catch up with the legendary Greg Rucka as we talk about writing, pens, life, and his epic comic Lazarus Fallen with co-creator Michael Lark.

Greg and I have been steadily podcasting together since 2019! Little did Greg know what he was getting into by saying yes to that first episode. Going on 7 years later, I am so grateful to call Greg a true friend.

If you aren’t already subscribed to his newsletter, Front Towards Enemy, do yourself a favor and sign up—it’s free, it’s brilliant, and it’s the perfect way to stay up to date on all things Rucka.

For those that don’t already know:

Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He is also the writer for his critically acclaimed and award winning film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron and The Old Guard 2 streaming now on Netflix.

I’m loving these conversations and hope you are too. If you are, please rate my podcast on your platform of choice and share it with others!
