About this listen

She’s narrated dozens of spicy romances, but nothing prepared her for weaponizing the “forced proximity” trope in real life. One meddling sister, one hot neighbor, and a whole lot of cheese dip. Welcome to the romcom multiverse.

It's Romcom meets meta-fiction, with a wink at Hallmark-style setups and a dash of Gen-Z snark. Think To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before meets Emily Henry by way of Fleabag.

  • Format: 9 episodes, 20-30 minutes each.
  • Style: Narration and full cast dialogue: Shannon’s voiceover frames each episode (like a narrator from inside a romcom), while scenes unfold cinematically in audio

Shannon can hardly contain herself when she discovers that Claire and Tony are both in New York at the same time. Surely, it’s fate… or maybe just excellent plotting. While Claire insists she’s only there for a job interview, Shannon and Brian turn their kitchen into a romcom command center, launching a full-on “Cyrano de Bergerac” texting operation to secretly feed Tony romantic suggestions.

Meanwhile, Claire and Tony take on the city: ice cream at Serendipity, people-watching in Central Park, and a fateful detour to—wait for it—the Museum of Sex. Between novelty desserts and not-so-subtle flirting, the chemistry is undeniable.

By the end of the night, they haven’t labeled it—but the air between them is basically humming with possibility.

  • Claire Falls…Into Old Habits
    Feb 26 2026

In this episode of The Romcom Formula, real life gets messier than any trope Shannon could dream up.

After gloating to listeners about her matchmaking prowess, Shannon reveals that Brian has officially left his corporate job to become her stay-at-home (and studio-support) husband. Meanwhile, Claire struggles to balance her growing feelings for Tony with her workaholic instincts. When she cancels their kayaking date to cover a last-minute client shoot, she misses his art exhibition—and Tony’s patience starts to wear thin.

But fate (and a few airline miles) have other plans. When Claire and Tony discover they’ll both be in New York for work, they plan a very secret rendezvous. Unfortunately, Brian can’t keep a secret to save his life—and Shannon’s romcom meddling instincts kick right back in.

  • The One Where Shannon Finds Out
    Feb 19 2026

    The meddler becomes the meddled-with.

Fresh off her viral moment and back in full matchmaker mode, Shannon doubles down on her plan to spark romance between her sister Claire and hunky friend, Tony. What she doesn’t expect? That her plan might actually be working already.

While Shannon and Brian toy with the idea of Brian leaving his day job to help run Shannon’s growing voiceover empire, Claire and Tony are doing their own kind of creative collaboration—from workout banter to heartfelt lunches and artistic confessions. But just as the chemistry builds, Claire starts to suspect her sister’s been pulling the strings all along.

Meanwhile, a tense family dinner with their boomer parents brings gender roles, finances, and fiery one-liners to the table. And when the truth finally comes out? Shannon is equal parts thrilled and terrified.

Because every romcom formula needs conflict—and this one’s about to hit its big turning point.
