In this episode Myron Hieronymous Thomas presents the history of the Preakness horse race. The 150th running of the Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday, May 17th, 2025. The history of the Preakness is interesting that while it's the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes this year and the Derby was the 151st running, the Preakness actually ran two years before the Kentucky Derby, when Pimlico introduced its new stakes race for three-year-olds in 1873.

The 2025 Belmont Stakes will be run on Saturday, June 7th at Saratoga Race Course. The 157th running of the Belmont Stakes will feature a $2 million purse. The 157th running of the Belmont Stakes is on Saturday 7 June 2025 at 6:50 p.m. EDT and will be shorter than the usual 1 +1⁄2 miles (12 furlongs; 2,414 meters) due to Saratoga's smaller main dirt track.
