  • TPM Episode 454: Shawn Robertson, Legendary Skater
    Oct 13 2025

Shawn Robertson is up there with the most naturally gifted athletes I’ve ever worked with. At 13, he was throwing an 80 mph fastball and dominating team sports, then he found inline and rode that rocketship. By the time he was 15, he left Texas on his first plane ever and within months, he was traveling the world, winning contests and putting out incredible street parts all in the name of skating. Now, the poor kid from Texas had all the things thanks to a Levis Sponsorship, working with GAP, plus all the core skate brands. Shawn had “it” and could do anything and still command respect. But an injury, combined with no insurance, forced Shawn to pivot to professional frisbee golf among other things. Fellow wild Texas skater, Ryan Dawes asks the Inappropriate Questions. This is one of my favorite people and episodes.

  • TPM Episode 453: Jamie Starr, Ski Industry Marketing Leader/Lawyer
    Oct 6 2025

Jamie Starr has had more great jobs in the ski industry than most guests I’ve had on the show. Really, he was born to be a part of this industry. Growing up in Crested Butte taught Jamie a love of the mountains and understanding of what it takes to make non-traditional athletes tick, which all helped him in his later endeavors. But what drove Jamie was a passion to not only be the best, but to do good and really make a difference in the world. On the podcast we talk about law school, his incredible career with brands like The North Face, Spyder, DPS, Pomoca, how to handle athlete loss, and more. But, Emily didn’t have the traditional track into pro skiing, she was never the best, she didn’t stand on many podiums, but what she did have was passion, and the right crew of friends to start making ski edits with. Sep 22 2025

Peter Mehrhof was an early part of the "New School" ski movement but in the long run, Peter cared more about school than being a pro skier. Coming up in Mammoth, Peter was champion water skier and a fast ski racer who eventually made a pivot to the park and pipe and in no time was on the K2 Factory Team. And then Pete chose college and disappeared form skiing, only to resurface behind a boat and a desk in the world of wakeboarding. It's a cool story of a pioneer and engineer. Don Wallace asks the Inappropriate Questions.
