    May 20 2024

Jeff Thomas is an award-winning filmmaker, a once-sponsored skier, and a guy who was born to be a baseball player. While he can still throw the ball at 85 mph, the day Jeffy’s dad showed him the brochure to high North Ski Camp in the late ’90s, Jeff’s life went from boring baseball to the epicenter of the new school of skiing. • TPM Episode 382: Zach Miller, Paralympian, World Champion Snowboarder
    May 13 2024

Zach Miller is different than any World Champion I’ve had on the podcast. While he appears to be able-bodied, Zach has Cerebral Palsy, a neurological disorder that affects his mobility, posture, and balance. Zach found snowboarding through a hospital program, and that changed his life. Today, Zach is a Paralympian who travels the world to snowboard. On the podcast, we talk about CP and everything that goes along with it, including fatigue, challenges, and bullying. We also talk about competing against adaptive athletes while he looks able-bodied and the challenges that created. And, of course, we discuss money or complete lack thereof it, the Paralympics, and a whole lot more. It’s a different and important episode that everyone should hear.

    Zach Miller Show Notes:

5:00: Russell Wilson and God, Cerebral Palsy, he’s different than most adaptive athletes, growing up like he’s normal, and getting bullied.

  • TPM Episode 381: Scotty Lago, Pro Snowboarder, Olympian, Hunter
    May 6 2024

Scotty Lago had a path to pro snowboarding that’s different than almost anyone I’ve interviewed. Most high school dropouts don’t have Olympic Medals to go along with a grip of X Games and Dew Tour hardware, but that’s what Scotty Lago did. Along the way, he was part of the legendary Frends Crew, he filmed with Grenade, he filmed with Travis Rice for the biggest movies in snowboard history, and he did it all while riding for Flow Snowboards. When all was said and done, Scotty didn’t retire into the sunset; he’s now following his other passion of hunting, and just like in his snowboard career, he’s already a sponsored hunter, and who knows how big that world can get for Scotty. This is a fun podcast with an unfiltered legend and former Flow TM, Andrew Mutty asks the Inappropriate Questions.

    Scotty Lago Show Notes:

  • TPM Episode 380: Dane Tudor, Pro Skier
    Apr 29 2024

Dane Tudor has had an incredible pro ski career that’s been going on for 15+ years, and while he’s getting older, Dane shows no sign of slowing down ski-wise, and no brands seem to care for some reason. When I say no signs of slowing down, in 2009, when Dane was 19, he won “Male Performance of the Year,” a huge award in skiing. Then, in 2023, 15 years later, Dane won that same coveted award again. While that’s so rare, so is the fact that while he’s always found success in both Moto and skiing, nothing has ever been easy for him on the sponsor end. Maybe it’s because he didn’t grow up with a dad or because he was always traveling between Canada and Alaska and was isolated with homeschooling…I try and find out the answers on the show, and Colston VB asks the Inappropriate Questions.

    Dane Tudor Show Notes:

5:00: Speedo’s, born into adventure in AK and Aus, the impact of not having a dad, and Red Mountain

  • TPM Episode 379: Jake Hopfinger, Pro Skier
    Apr 22 2024

Jake Hopfinger created a name for himself in skiing at the Kings and Queens of Corbet’s in Jackson Hole. The double backflip he threw there for a 3rd instantly made his name known worldwide. While the dollars and travel budgets are now coming in, Jake was once an aspiring D1 East Coast ski racer who could never finish a race. Then he quit racing, moved to Montana, and learned to ski powder. The rest is history in the making. Parkin Costain and Jonnie Merrill ask the Inappropriate Questions.

  • TPM Episode 378: Jessica Sobolowski-Quinn, Pro Skier, Owner, Points North Adventures
    Apr 15 2024

Jessica Sobolowski-Quinn is a lifer in the ski industry. She’s skied more powder than almost anyone on the planet over the past 20 years, which is what you’d expect from the owner of one of Alaska’s premiere heli operations, Points North. But Jess didn’t grow up chasing powder in helicopters; she was a D1 ski racer who made her way to Palisades after college. From there, she met famous friends, started skiing rowdy lines, lined up sponsors, and traveled the world to film for a decade and eventually reeled it all in to manage the family business she runs with her husband, Kevin Quinn. Ingrid Backstrom asks the Inappropriate Questions.

  • TPM Episode 377: Colter Hinchliffe, Pro Skier
    Apr 8 2024

Colter Hinchliffe is living proof that the Aspen rockstar ski bum dream not only exists but it can thrive if your heart is in the right place. Colter spent his life surrounding himself with the only thing that mattered to him - Skiing. And between growing up near Aspen, dropping out of college to shred, moving to Alta, and returning to Aspen, he made the right contacts to make the dream come true. He was tending bar in Aspen, making handfuls of cash, allowing him to travel anywhere in the world at a minute's notice...That lifestyle put him in AK and eventually in a helicopter with the TGR crew when he was 25 years old, and that, combined with an unexpected Powder Magazine cover, helped Colter graduate from ski bum to pro skier pretty late in the game. It's a real-life Aspen Extreme Ski Bum Story.
