• TPM Episode 347: Cameron Talbott, Pro Skater
    Jun 2 2025

Cameron Talbott is getting his first pro skate this week. What’s crazy is that Cam is 37 years old, and while he was a sponsored am for a long time, he didn’t achieve pro status until he was 25. While that’s impressive, what’s even more impressive are the hammers and creativity that define his skating. Not too bad for a kid who came up with nothing in Missoula, Montana.

On the podcast, we talk about growing up with less, his badass mom, finding community in skating, SF, Valo, and so much more. It’s a good one, with a double dose of Inappropriate Questions featuring Erick Garcia and Tom Hyser.

  • TPM Episode 436: Janelle Yip, Pro Skier
    May 26 2025

Janelle Yip's path to becoming a pro skier was more unexpected than unconventional. She grew up as a skier on the slopestyle path, and while she loved it, being a comp skier wasn’t in the cards for Janelle. So, after a gap year led her to Revelstoke, Janelle never gave up on her pro skier dreams, giving herself a 5-year window to make it happen. In year one, Janelle met the crew that would become “The Blondes," altering the trajectory of her life. In what started as a play for free beer, “The Blondes” took the ski world by storm and, in turn, launched three ski careers. On the podcast, Janelle and I talk about the influence of Windell’s, starting an all-girls ski crew, Intersection, MSP, and so much more. One of Janelle’s partners in crime, Emily Childs, asks the Inappropriate Questions.

He was often found surrounded by a harem of beautiful women. Klaus’s incredible story started 105 years ago in Hitler’s Germany where he was shot by Nazis trying to escape on his skis. May 5 2025

Garrett McNamara is a world record-breaking big wave surfer and one of the pioneers of sport. What’s crazy about Garrett’s story is that while he achieved pro surfer status early on, his career didn’t take off until his mid to late 30's when he became infatuated with riding giant waves. And then it exploded to the point where now, at 55, he’s launching his 3rd Season of his “100 Foot Wave” series with HBO. On the podcast, we talk about growing up in cults, Hawaii, being there for the beginning of tow-in surfing, being big in Japan, Northshore (the movie) his HBO series, and much more. Apr 14 2025

Stuart Rempel has one of those resumes. If you look at it, you know that he has lived an incredible life, and it all started with a ski bum mentality. Stuart went from pounding nails and skiing winters to running Salomon NA, Olin, K2 Skis, and Whistler. Most people at that level have a few degrees and plenty of suits. That’s not Stuart, though. Throughout his career, he made it a priority to be on snow as much as possible, and the beta he gathered from the hill was used to make skiing better. It’s another great business episode with an important person in the hardgoods and resort world, and Stuart’s legendary neighbor, Mike Douglas, asks the Inappropriate Questions.
