  • The New Paradigm of Healing: From Fixing to Becoming
    Sep 26 2025

    Send us a text

Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Mystic in Training podcast with me, your host, Melissa Amos.

This one is for you if you feel like you’re one of the healers of the world. If you’ve ever felt like you’re one of the fixers, the path-takers, or the path-makers.

What I’ve noticed is that there seems to be a pattern that arises when we step into the role of healer. It’s almost as if the world thinks there’s a problem — and it’s up to us to fix it. And not only that, but to fix it in a way that’s accessible, maybe even free, as though it’s our duty.

But the longer I’ve been on this path, the more I’ve realised how destructive that expectation can be — not just for healers themselves, but also for the people we support and for the world at large. Because when we see healing only as fixing, we devalue what it truly is: the path of evolution.

When healing is only sought out after something breaks — the job loss, the divorce, the grief, the breakdown — it’s often with the desire to “get back to how things were.” But here’s the truth: we were never meant to go back. We’re meant to take who we were, and become who we’re becoming.

That’s what healing really is. It’s not about repairing, it’s about evolving. It’s about growth. It’s about making a life that doesn’t need constant “resets,” but one where we’re always becoming more of who we truly are.

I’ve seen this pattern in so many ways. People will invest in holidays, phones, or the latest tech without thinking twice — but the idea of investing in their own evolution often comes last. Healing becomes treated like a spa day: a one-off reset to soothe the system before returning to “normal.” But normal wasn’t working. That’s why the challenge arose in the first place.

Healing is not about getting back to who we were. Healing is about moving forward into who we are becoming.

And yes, sometimes that means nervous system regulation, or soothing, or a Reiki session to help bring relief. But the bigger picture? It’s not about fixing what’s wrong. It’s about creating space for what’s next.

As healers, therapists, coaches, space-holders, it’s up to us to shift this narrative. To stand in the truth that our work isn’t about “fixing people.” It’s about helping them remember who they are, awaken to their potential, and evolve into the next expression of themselves.

And that means we have to value our work differently. Because when we devalue it — when we give it away, or carry the responsibility of “fixing” on our shoulders — we teach the world to do the same.

Instead, we need to stand in the knowing: this work is sacred. It requires devotion, commitment, investment — of time, energy, resources, and yes, sometimes money. Because what we’re really doing is not fixing. We’re becoming. We’re evolving.

So my invitation for you today is this:

    • Stop asking “what do I need to fix?”

    • Start asking “what am I becoming?”

That one shift can change everything — for you, for your clients, and for the healing space itself.

Because healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken. Healing is about remembering, evolving, and stepping more fully into who you really are.

And that, dear mystic, is the new paradigm.

  • Why Healing Isn’t About Healing at All: The New Paradigm of Awakening
    Sep 19 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode of Mystic in Training, Melissa Amos explores why true healing is not about fixing what’s broken but awakening to who we really are. Drawing from her own Reiki journey and the story of a friend’s remarkable recovery, she unpacks how the old paradigm of healing—looking for problems to solve—keeps us stuck in loops.

Melissa introduces a new way forward: seeing every challenge as an invitation to return to self, to either fall deeper into conditioning or rise into awakening. She shares how ego-driven “fixing” limits what’s possible, while soul-led openness creates space for miracles.

This conversation will shift how you view healing, awaken your trust in divine intelligence, and remind you that nothing about you is broken.

Takeaway contemplation: “Today I choose to meet my challenges as invitations. I choose to awaken more.”

  • The Soul Is Fierce: Why Discomfort Is Love in Action
    Sep 12 2025

    Send us a text

We often imagine the soul as soft, peaceful, and serene. But the truth is — the soul is fierce. Fierce enough to shake us out of complacency, fierce enough to stir discomfort when we’re not aligned, fierce enough to walk us through the dark night so we can evolve into who we’re here to be.

In this episode, Melissa Amos shares how the soul’s fierceness has shown up in her own journey, why challenges are invitations in disguise, and how you can begin to hear the soul’s voice without waiting for it to roar.
