About this listen

Welcome to The Heart of a Singer Podcast. I’m Sarah Toth, Heart Coach, mom of 2, trained opera singer, and passionate lover of Jesus.

This podcast is a home for Christian women who have trained and worked in singing, opera, and musical theater; but maybe you’ve found yourself in a place of unrest, bottled-up emotions, and even feeling far from God. But through the hurt of your circumstances, you might be feeling an invitation from the Lord - to learn to hear his voice more clearly and to open up yours in a new way.

It’s time to move out of your desert season, musically, spiritually, and emotionally so that you can move forward in a healthy way and step out into the next chapter that God has for you.

So I invite you to open up your journal, grab your favorite pen, and then join me, as we move from Stuck to Thriving, while unlocking your heart again to beat for His Kingdom Purposes.

  • 89. Why Singing Christmas Carols at Home Matters—and 3 Steps to Keep the Tradition Alive
    Dec 20 2025

Do your kids know the classic Christmas carols you grew up singing? In this episode, we explore why singing Christmas carols at home matters and how easily this rich tradition can slip away if we’re not intentional. From "Silent Night" to "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," these songs carry theology, worship, church history, and family memory. As moms, we can become the gatekeepers of what is sung in our homes—and this conversation invites you to reflect on the value of passing down these Christmas carols.

You’ll learn three simple steps to keep the tradition alive: deciding why Christmas carols matter to you, when to sing them at home, and which types of carols you want your children to grow up knowing. Mama, even if you are feeling insecure about your voice right now —your kids won’t remember what's not perfect. They’ll remember the rich heritage of singing together, and hide in their hearts the songs themselves. This Christmas, you’re invited to reclaim singing carols at home and pass on a legacy your family will carry for years to come.

    Blessings,

    Sarah 🌟
