These people immediately turn on Jesus and try to throw Him off a cliff because He tells them they will later reject Him so He will not save most of them; Jesus heals and casts demons out of many people; Jesus does a miracle in front of Simon the fisherman and asks Simon to follow Him to fish for people. Simon follows Jesus and will be laterrenamed Peter by Jesus; Jesus forgives the sins of and heals a paralyzed man; Jesus calls tax collector Levi to follow Him: Levi will be renamed Matthew by Jesus; Jesus and the Pharisees get into a confrontation about Jesus showing mercy and healing people on the Sabbath; Jesus chooses the 12 apostles out of his group of followers; Jesus preaches the Beatitudes and tells His followers they must love their enemies.

    The Word of God came to John the Baptist. John the Baptist preached a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. John the Baptist announced the imminent coming of the Messiah, who would be Jesus. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and heaven was opened, the Holy Spirit descended in Jesus like a dove and a voice from heaven said "You are my Son whom I love; with you I am well pleased." The genealogy of Jesus is givengoing from his step-father, Joseph all the way back to the first man, Adam. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness where he fasted for forty days and then was tempted to sin by the devil.

    THE CRUXIFIXION EVENTS OF JESUS IN THE GOSPEL OF MARK: The Last Supper; Jesus reveals to the 12 apostles one of them will betray Him; Jesus tells Peter he will disown Him 3 times later that night- Peter responds he would never do that; Jesus prays to God the Father asking for another way to save us from our sins besides Him being crucified- God the Father said there is no other way- Jesus agrees to be crucified to pay for our sins to save us; Judas betrays Jesus to the temple guards who arrest Jesus. The chief priest asks Jesus if He is "the Messiah, the Son of God?" Jesus said He is. Jesus is accused of blasphemy for saying this and sentenced to death. Peter disowns Jesus 3 times; Jesus is brought before the Roman governor Pilate; the crowd demands Barabbas the insurrectionist and murder be set free and Jesus be crucified. Pilate said Jesus was innocent, but he had Jesus flogged and handed Jesus over to be crucified to satisfy the crowd; the Roman soldiers greatly abuse and mock Jesus, beating Him and placing a crown of thorns on His head; Simon of Cyrene was forced to help Jesus carry His cross; Jesus was crucified at 9:00am between 2 rebels; the people mock Jesus and taunt Him to cone down off the cross; at 3:00pm Jesus cries out "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Jesus breathed his last breath and died; at that moment the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; a centurion who was standing in front of Jesus and witnessed all the events cried out "Surely this man was the Son of God!"
