Since coming to power in 2007, the SNP have been in control of our country for 18 years. However things have changed since the last election in 2021, with the SNP loosing support and parliamentary seats as a result.

After becoming party leader and First Minister in 2024, John Swinney says that he has steadied the ship, and put The SNP on the path to victory. Is he right? Or has the era of SNP dominance reached its final chapter?

Once the dominant party in Scottish politics, Labour faced electoral catastrophe throughout the 2010s, holding just one Scottish MP for most of the decade.

However, after the General Election last year, Labour romped home, gaining 36 seats in Scotland, turning the central belt back to red and putting them on track to govern Scotland.

However, with public discontent towards the actions of the UK Labour Government, the road to government doesn't look so clear as it once did.
