    By the time investigators connected 50-year-old Richard Rogers to the murders of four middle-aged gay and bisexual men whose remains were discovered in garbage bags between 1991 and 1993, it had been nearly three decades since Richard had first been acquitted of murder after claiming self-defense. Richard had come a long way from hiding corpses in tents. He’d realized dismemberment was a much better method of body disposal.     Using the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. as his murderous roadmap, Gary Ray Bowles left innocent men dead from Florida to Maine in 1994, killing six men before being apprehended at a Florida employment office. Gary thought of himself as a hustler, someone who exploited the benevolence of others, then turned on them in the cruelest way possible bymurdering them, violently stuffing something in their mouth, stealing from them, and then moving on to the next unsuspecting victim.
