    डिजिटल युग में यह एक गंभीर वास्तविकता है कि यदि आपके नाम पर Registered SIM कार्ड का इस्तेमाल किसी धोखाधड़ी, अवैध गतिविधि या स्कैम में किया जाता है, तो कानून की निगाह में इसकी प्राथमिक ज़िम्मेदारी आपकी ही होगी। ऐसे मामलों में पहली पुलिस पूछताछ, FIR या नोटिस सीधा आपको, यानी पंजीकृत सब्सक्राइबर को भेजा जाता है। इस जोखिम से बचाने के लिए, डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ टेलीकम्युनिकेशंस (DoT) ने 'संचार साथी' (Sanchaar Saathi) नामक एक शक्तिशाली Tool पेश किया है। इस पोर्टल के ज़रिए, नागरिक महज़ दो मिनट में अपने नाम पर Active सभी मोबाइल कनेक्शनों की जाँच कर सकते हैं और किसी भी अपरिचित नंबर को “Not My SIM” रिपोर्ट करके उसे तुरंत डिस्कनेक्ट करवा सकते हैं, जिससे वे कानूनी कार्रवाई और वित्तीय नुकसान से बच सकें।
