First elected in November 2004 and sworn in on January 3, 2005, he’s now in his sixth term leading the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Before winning the top job, Jones spent 12 years as chief deputy (1993–2005) after a career with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, including time as a major at Lebanon Correctional Institution, totaling well over four decades in law enforcement. Known nationally for his outspoken stance on immigration and public-safety policy, Jones remains one of Ohio’s most visible county sheriffs.

Dan Newlin is a former law enforcement officer who transitioned into business ownership. After serving as a police officer and sheriff’s deputy, he built one of Florida’s most recognized personal injury law firms, leveraging his public-service background to advocate for clients and grow a highly successful legal practice.

Michael J. McDonald is the long-serving chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, and one of the state’s most influential GOP figures. He has a background in law enforcement (having served as a police officer) and in municipal government (as a Las Vegas City Council member).
