About this listen
Sheriff Richard K. Jones is the long-serving sheriff of Butler County, Ohio. First elected in November 2004 and sworn in on January 3, 2005, he’s now in his sixth term leading the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Before winning the top job, Jones spent 12 years as chief deputy (1993–2005) after a career with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, including time as a major at Lebanon Correctional Institution, totaling well over four decades in law enforcement. Known nationally for his outspoken stance on immigration and public-safety policy, Jones remains one of Ohio’s most visible county sheriffs.
