If you've ever had restaurant bill shock, been charged for condiments, or stared into an empty water glass waiting for a server who vanished into another dimension — this episode is for you.

Restaurant food prices have increased 25% between 2019 and 2024 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and tipping culture has left 72% of Americans confused (Pew Research, 2023). So we're asking the big question: have restaurants officially lost their minds?

  • Everything Fell Apart This Week | Here's What Happened
    Mar 5 2026

Dad life is messy, emotional, and unpredictable. In this episode of the Stay Outta My Fridge dad life podcast, I share a real week of parenting, youth sports struggles, and the chaos that comes with raising athletes and running a household.

Being a parent means celebrating wins, handling tough moments, and learning lessons you never expected. This week in Carthage, New York, both of my daughters played basketball — one had success on the court while the other faced the frustration of not getting the opportunity she hoped for. Watching your kid experience adversity in youth sports is one of the hardest parts of parenting, especially when you're also a coach who understands the game.

But that was only the beginning of the chaos.

Later that same week our house ran out of fuel oil on one of the coldest days of the year because a delivery never happened. Add in a vacuum that needed what I can only describe as a “haircut,” a full moon destroying my sleep schedule, and the constant pressure of figuring out the future of my shows and creative work… and you’ve got a real snapshot of modern dad life.

This episode of Stay Outta My Fridge blends humor, storytelling, and honest parenting moments about youth basketball, family life, and the reality of being a dad trying to balance everything.

What You'll Learn in This Episode

The emotional side of youth sports parenting

    How adversity builds young athletes

The reality of dad life behind the scenes

    Lessons from coaching kids basketball

How parenting challenges pile up all at once

Why family life is chaos (and sometimes hilarious)

  • The Doughnut That Broke Me | Dad Life at 41
    Feb 19 2026

Dad life in your 40s hits different, and sometimes it shows up in ways you don’t expect. In this solo episode of Stay Outta My Fridge, I talk about the moment I completely overreacted to my daughters fighting over a Tim Hortons doughnut… and what it revealed about fatherhood stress, turning 41, and the pressure modern dads quietly carry.

Because sometimes it’s not about the doughnut.

It’s about responsibility. It’s about pressure. It’s about being the foundation of the house and realizing nobody’s coming to take that weight off your shoulders.

And if you’ve ever snapped over something small and immediately thought, “That wasn’t really about that…” you’re not alone.

Why dad burnout shows up in unexpected ways

The mental load fathers carry in their 40s

How rising bills and financial pressure affect parenting

Balancing family finances with making memories

Why collecting sports cards with your kids matters more than you think

How to apologize as a dad without losing authority

The emotional shift that happens after turning 40

  • We’re All Tired… and It’s Not Just Sleep
    Feb 5 2026

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, I’m talking about the kind of exhaustion you can’t fix with an early bedtime. Between coaching JV and varsity basketball, work stress, being a dad and husband, and trying to keep multiple shows moving, life can feel like a constant stack of responsibilities—where even the good stuff starts to feel heavy.

We get into why being “busy” stopped feeling temporary, how modern tech keeps our brains switched on, why kids’ math feels unnecessarily complicated now, and what we’re losing when real face-to-face conversation gets replaced by texts and reactions. If you’ve been feeling overloaded, this one’s for you.

    In this episode:

    The tired that isn’t sleep-related

When life gets full, not broken

The guilt layer: never feeling “done”

Overcomplicated homework and daily mental drain

Tech fatigue and always being reachable

    Missing real conversations

Closing thoughts: you’re not lazy—you’re overstimulated
