  • How sex on screen really works - with the intimacy coordinator behind Normal People, Sex Education and I May Destroy You
    Dec 15 2025

    Let’s talk about sex…

Today, we’re speaking to Ita O’Brien - the intimacy coordinator behind the intimate scenes in Normal People, I May Destroy You, Bridgerton, It’s a Sin, Sex Education and more…

After training as an actor, dancer and movement coach - Ita created the ‘Intimacy On Set Guidelines’ - which protects actors and performers during scenes that involve nudity or sex.

Her work pre-dates the Me Too movement but was bought to public attention in the wake of the Weinstein scandal. Ita explained why her work is so vital, why having an intimacy coordinator benefits everyone on set, and how creating realistic sex has a positive impact far beyond the actors on set...

Ita’s book Intimacy guides us through how she helps actors create authentic sex scenes, and how we can use those techniques to rebuild a deeper and healthier connection with our bodies, create a safe space for exploration, and rethink how we navigate sex and intimacy in our own lives and in society as a whole. The book contains behind-the-scenes insights, practical exercises and guidance to help us communicate boundaries and navigate everyday relationships. You can get your copy here!

  • “We take the bins out naked” - with naturist Helen Berriman
    Dec 8 2025

How comfortable are you with nudity? Today, we’re speaking to Helen Berriman - who has been a naturist for the last four years - after reluctantly being introduced to it by her husband.

Helen explained the difference between naturism and nudism, she ran through all the practicalities with us and debunked the misconception that naturism is about sex.

We spoke about how being naked can have a huge positive impact on our body image - and the transformational effect being a naturist has had helping Helen to heal from past trauma. We also confront our personal concerns around safety - and consider our own boundaries when it comes to nudity.

Listen to Helen’s podcast - British Naturism: Women In Focus

  • Just Us: Alex goes fist deep, overexposing ourselves and The Great Bedsheet Debate
    Dec 4 2025

Welcome back to another Just Us - in this week’s episode the SIDT Team has been bitterly divided by the ‘how often should you clean your bedsheets?’ debate… we also reveal that Alex is in fact *fussy* - and Em’s once again feeling overexposed…

Do you have any whacky suggestions about how Al can learn to enjoy doing her duvet cover? Or would you be interested in watching a livestream of her attempting to strip the bed? Email us on shouldideletethatpod@gmail.com

  • Jameela Jamil on "The Ozempic Olympics", being unapologetically outspoken and unafraid to be disliked
    Dec 1 2025

You asked - so we answered… Jameela Jamil is back on the podcast.

Jameela is an actor and activist - she’s unapologetic and she’s not afraid of being disliked.

There are very few people in Hollywood who speak out so openly, loudly and passionately about social justice, so we spoke to Jameela about why she feels equipped and compelled to speak out, and why others may not do the same… even when they know they should.

We also spoke to Jameela about the death of the body positivity movement, the Ozempic Era and her view on celebrities glamourising the return of ultra-thinness as the mainstream beauty ideal.

Be prepared to get angry, impassioned and ready to fight back...

  • Emma Barnett will not be underestimated
    Nov 24 2025

Emma Barnett is a broadcaster, journalist and author who we admire hugely. She is one of the BBC’s most high-profile journalists who is currently part of the presenting team on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme - as well as previously hosting Women’s Hour and Newsnight.

Alongside her incredible broadcasting career, Emma has also become a powerful advocate for women’s health - having chosen to speak up about her very difficult IVF journey as well as struggling with both endometriosis and adenomyosis. Emma told us about why she chose to bring her private reality into light to advocate for women’s health and to disrupt the assumptions that we may hold about ‘serious’ news presenters.

We also spoke to Emma about interviewing Kate Bush, what happened when she called out Rory Stewart for lying on air and why she is concerned about women feeling the need to be liked all the time.

Experiences that have reshaped lives. Bold questions, unexpected truths, lots of tea... Emma Barnett invites you into her world for deeply human conversations. You can listen to episodes on BBC Sounds HERE. New episodes of Ready to Talk with Emma Barnett are available every Friday on BBC Sounds.
