    Who Told You That?

    Part 3 Pastor David King

(1 John 4:1) Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

(Genesis 12:1-3) 1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

    The Promises

    1. To make him a _________________.
    2. To ____________.
    3. To give him ________.
    4. To bless all __________________.

    They gave us _____________________________.

(Romans 3:2) Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.

They gave us the_________ of the ____________.

(Galatians 3:16) The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

(Genesis 12:7) The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So, he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

  • Who Told You That? Part 2 - Women Speakers
    Oct 6 2025

Who Told You That? Part 2 Pastor David King

(1 Timothy 2:12) I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority

over a man; she must be quiet.

(1 Corinthians 14: 34-35) Women should remain silent in the churches.

They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the

law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their

own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the

    church.

(1 Corinthians 14:26) What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When

you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a

revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that

the church may be built up.

(1 Corinthians 14:3 CEB) Those who prophesy speak to people, building

them up, and giving them encouragement and comfort.

(2 Timothy 4:2 NIV) Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of

season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful

    instruction.

(1 Corinthians 14:3 AMP) But [on the other hand] the one who prophesies

speaks to people for edification [to promote their spiritual growth] and

[speaks words of] encouragement [to uphold and advise them concerning

the matters of God] and [speaks words of] consolation [to compassionately

    comfort them].

    _________________________

(Proverbs 18:21 NIV) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those

who love it will eat its fruit.

(Ephesians 4:29) Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your

mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their

needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

    _________________________

(Hebrews 10:24-25) And let us consider how we may spur one another on

toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are

in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you

    see the Day approaching.

(1 Thessalonians 5:14) And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those

who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be

    patient with everyone.

    ______________________________

(Galatians 6:2) Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill

    the law of Christ.

(Philippians 1:6) being confident of this, that he who began a good work in

you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

(1 Corinthians 10:13) No temptation has overtaken you except what is

common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be

tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also

provide a way out so that you can endure it.

    Who Told You That

    Part 1 Pastor David King

(Matthew 19:6) So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

(2 Corinthians 6:14) Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

(Ephesians 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

(Ephesians 5:33) However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

    God_____________________

(Malachi 2:16) “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

    (1 Timothy 3:2 KJV) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

(1 Timothy 3:2 NLT) So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.

    1. ________________

(1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

(Jeremiah 24:7) I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.

    2. _________________

(Colossians 3:13) Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

(2 Corinthians 5:17-18) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

    3. ________________

(Ephesians 1:18) I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

(Matthew 5:13-16) “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

    What are you doing here?

    Chris Highfield

    09/07/2025 Shiloh Church

I Kings 19:9 - There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But, the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

    I.Finding Yourself in A Cave

I Kings 17:1 - Now Elijah, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab, “As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives—the God I serve—there will be no dew or rain during the next few years until I give the word!”

1 Kings 19:1-4 - And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.” And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”

1 Kings 19:9-10 - And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
