Today Joe talks to Sarah J. Ruthless. You may know them from their online presence and their "Drunk Bible Story" skits but underneath all that humor and sarcasm lays some long term religious pain and trauma.

Sarah's story will resonate with many people (unfortunately) as they talks about growing up in high control spaces, navigating their queer identity and discovering their neurodivergence. Sarah finds healing and refuge in the skits, acting and online community they have cultivated. And despite having so much religious baggage has found a way to turn that around and create something real and beautiful and full of hope.

Joe talks to Rocky about how she came upon the idea, the reason her story with her dad is featured, how people can help with the ongoing project and so much more.

In this episode Joe talks to Raul Zambrano.

Raul is a listener and reached out to Joe to share his story. Raul talks about his upbringing in a very evangelical, fundamentalist school in Florida. He talks about the crimes committed at this private Christian school, how it influenced his thinking and the harm it created in the community.

Raul also talks about how the school's view on LGBTQIA people ended up (very negative), ended up having the opposite affect on him as a large portion of his client base is made up of queer people.

In this episode, Joe talks to his old college friend Trisha Wilkerson. Trisha is an author, speaker, coach and nutritionist.

Trisha talks about her days at the fundamentalist college she met Joe at, how her and her husband ended up at Mars Hill and all that entailed. She talks about the work they did untangling all the toxic theology and how it benefited her family when one of their children came out to them.
