In this gripping episode of Roaring Skies, we explore two of the most devastating weather events that left their mark on the Southeastern United States.

• 2010 Yazoo City Tornado: On April 24, 2010, a violent EF4 tornado carved a path of destruction through Yazoo City, Mississippi. With winds reaching up to 170 mph, this tornado traveled over 152 miles, resulting in 10 fatalities and injuring 146 people. We’ll delve into the meteorological conditions that led to this catastrophic event, share harrowing survivor stories, and discuss the long-term impact on the community.

• 2020 Easter Sunday Tornadoes: Fast forward to April 12, 2020, when a widespread tornado outbreak struck the Southeastern U.S. This outbreak produced 141 tornadoes across 10 states, tragically claiming 32 lives and injuring 257 people. We’ll recount the chaos of that Easter Sunday, highlighting the resilience of communities as they faced the dual challenges of tornadoes and subsequent flooding.

This episode of Roaring Skies is actually from 2024, this is a video that's been sitting on my Facebook for over a year and if I would have known I would be doing a weather podcast, it would have been here and I'm so glad that it's here now. We've all be taking a hiatus for a little while will let you know when we come back.

This is a bonus episode, we did weather coverage back on October 18th of this year and it was about to expire on Facebook so I decided to download it and upload it to Roaring Skies for all of you to see for the rest of your lives.

The April 22, 2011, and April 25-27 tornado outbreaks were significant weather events that caused widespread destruction and loss of life.

362 tornadoes were confirmed across 21 states during April 25-28, 2011 alone, with the most intense activity on April 27. The outbreak resulted in 324 tornado-related deaths, making it the deadliest outbreak since 1974. The states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee were particularly hard hit, with several EF4 and EF5 tornadoes causing catastrophic damage.

These events highlighted the importance of severe weather preparedness and the need for effective warning systems to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters.
