 Historian and author Dave Gutierrez discusses Sgt. Ramon Gutierrez who served in Company E 141st Infantry 36th Division during WWII. In part 2, Dave takes us from the barrios of Texas to the front lines in some of the most horric battles in Italy during WWII. Grandson Henry Ozuna joins the show and discusses his granfather's heroic action during operation Avalanche at Salerno.
In 2011 the Mexican American Veterans Association (MAVA) of Wichita Falls Texas named Sgt Ramon Gutierrez their Veteran of the Year.
In 2025 Texas State Rep Wes Virdell introuduce resolution HCR 115, the nomination of Sgt. Ramon Gutierrez for the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor.
