What happens when a well educated, long time citizen is appointed to the El Dorado County Planning Commission, and not long after, is dismissed by Supervisors not of her district, and apparent retaliation comes forth resulting in a law suit? This story is a must hear by everyone who is a citizen of any City or County, not just El Dorado County, California

On October 28, 2025 in a packed chamber, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors heard an agenda item on the Town and Country project which consisted of two large Hotel Units, a large Convention Center with amenities, and what could be up to 700 additional housing units in an undisclosed Planning Envelope. What would have resulted in a General Plan Amendment, we discuss what that means, and what the implications would mean long term for other land use decisions for development. With an end vote to move back the Planning Commission, we are not in the clear as of yet, so stay tuned and engaged.

In a complete violation of the Historical Value of the 2004 General Plan of El Dorado County, the Planning Department continues to push through projects that not only destroy the intent of the voter approved General Plan, it neglects the impacts on our water availability, traffic impacts, design structure and impacts on wildlife, and the nature of our open spaces.
