Bear encounter tonight on the Bells Gap Trail. Let's just say i was extremely lucky. Mother and cub amd cub was running before I saw them. Mother bear ears were back and gave me a death stare as we locked eyes. I got the "F" out of there in opposite direction. That was scariest wildlife encounter I ever had. If indid not happen to see the cub up on the bank when i did and kept going the direction i was which was same way cub was I have no doubt the mother would have came after me. Pure luck i saw it and saw Mother when I did. This was 6 mile up on the trail, so the woods part of the trail. Of course i ran away, I had get out of the situation amd couldn't just stand there, yes I know not supposed to run but yea video explains better.

Race went way better then expected. What i mean is body felt way better and performed way better then I was expecting. 1st 2 miles ran at a comfortable pace carrying on a conversation with my one buddy. After the split of our two different races it was on. I did get sent wrong way. I lost 3-5 mins. Also got passed up when sent wrong way. When I say I got sent wrong way volunteer told me to go wrong way even after asking him specifically which way to go. Adrenaline and dispare kicked in for a bit till i caught back up to guy who overtook me when I got sent the wrong way. I gathered myself releaxed before passing him then turned it back on. Being only a 5 mile race was shocked was able to get myself back into it. But that goes to show how hard i ran to get back into it. Happy i went and got out of bed. More so happy with performance. Was very hot, humid and muggy, everyone was dripping in sweat and were overheating in the end. Pic is of top male in each distance, other two won 15k and 25k respectivly.
