  • #219 - Challenged by a Reality Star, $10,000 Card, & Excel Esports Championship
    Dec 15 2025

Happy National Regifting Day! We debate whether this holiday is actually placed correctly on the calendar while Mike battles a post Flyers game sickness with some "Immunity Boost" tea. We get a quick update on Dan, who has seemingly cured his post marathon injuries through fasting and is already planning to run Philly again. Mike recaps his very first hockey game experience, he also dives into the high stakes world of sports card collecting.

Things get weird when Erin reveals she has been publicly challenged to a race by Summer House star Craig Conover via Instagram. We discuss the diabolical terms of this "6k" challenge and brainstorm ways to make his travel to Pennsylvania as difficult as possible. We also check in on our favorite "fake" podcaster who is somehow charting on Apple with suspicious numbers and discover the electric world of Microsoft Excel Esports, where spreadsheet experts get intro entrances like pro wrestlers. In sports news, we clarify the misleading headlines about the "trailer park" athlete village for the Winter Olympics. Finally, "Tea Time" covers a controversial Turkey Trot prank that left a new girlfriend in tears , and we end with a wholesome clip of a coach's son dancing in the locker room.

  • #218 - The $4,000 Haircut, Selling Marathon Medals, & Men in Women’s Races
    Dec 8 2025

We start this episode with a cautionary tale from Erin involving a neighbor's house, a craving for sweets, and a "healthy" brownie, leaving her traumatized for years. We also celebrate Erin’s co writer Amy running her first 5K, which leads to a recurring nightmare scenario: trying to explain exactly what this podcast is to confused strangers.

We then dive into our Thanksgiving recaps, discussing the "Brown Friday" phenomenon that keeps plumbers in business and the dedication of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade dancers who followed the "show must go on" rule despite a massive pile of fresh horse manure in their path. In sports news, we cover the potential bankruptcy of Grand Slam Track, the bizarre black market for marathon medals on eBay, and the controversy surrounding men running in a Nike women's only race. We also discuss a lawsuit claiming Nike Alphaflys caused a runner's stress fracture and question the wisdom of wearing brand new shoes on race day.

Finally, "Tea Time" returns with a wild story about a TikTok famous stylist charging $4,000 for hair she barely touched and a dark update on the "Sticker Gate" scandal. We wrap things up on a high note with a wholesome "No Bad News" story about the brotherhood of New York City doormen and a quick plug for the perfect White Elephant gift: the Pizza Pocket Hoodie (use code "NMONLY" at checkout)

  • #217 - Surviving the Philly Marathon & Renting an Old Man in Japan
    Dec 1 2025

It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving, and despite fighting off illness, jet lag, and some major technical difficulties with Riverside, we are here to recount Mike's trip to Japan and Dan's marathon finish.

First we insert a special pre-recorded segment breaking down Dan’s experience running the Philadelphia Marathon. We discuss the VIP bib upgrade that got him into a heated tent. Dan details his unconventional "Dan Method" of training (which we do not recommend), the horrors of the porta potty lines, and the physical toll of the final miles. Dan's experience getting hyped up from friends and strangers. Erin also shares her own embarrassing spectator moment involving a group of girls she thought wanted a selfie with her.

Mike kicks things off with a full recap of his travels, including the surprisingly difficult experience of "renting an old man" named Kenji to help navigate the train system (who ended up getting more lost than they did). He also shares stories about stumbling upon a bar in Tokyo packed with Eagles fans, the life changing magic of Japanese high tech toilets with "privacy sounds," and his visit to a TikTok famous 80 year old knife maker. We also discuss the chaos of Nara Park, where the bowing deer can get a little too aggressive, and the surreal experience of Super Nintendo World.

Finally, we wrap up with a strong recommendation for Vince Gilligan's new show Pluribus on Apple TV and explain why we’re skipping the "No Bad News" segment just this once.
