Welcome to the show! We hadn't planned on recording this podcast quite yet, but in a pandemic-era, we decided there's no time like the present! In the pilot episode, we talk about the beginnings of Water Within and how we got ten years into this wild ride that we've come to really love. You'll get to take a bit of a walk down memory lane as we recall the early years of WW, how we've been graciously allowed to play at over 200 churches in America, and the new territory we are walking into. You’ve maybe heard other folks discuss what it means to deal with the “shadow-self” or the version of us that doesn’t get much obvious time in public view. In a pivot from last week’s episode, we break down how both everyday occurrences of disappointment AND terribly difficult moments in our lives can result in shame. The gentle illumination of these shadowy tendencies is a return to hope and is part of the entry way to the abundant life God says belongs to us as His kids. In the words of one of our favorite bands (Switchfoot!) “The wound is where the light shines through.” We are shining some lights in this episode!
