About this listen

As a dietitian who works in behavior change, I've noticed a common theme in my work: the need for people to give themselves permission for true self care. But, sometimes, the world makes us feel like self-care should be ONE more thing we strive for leaving us feeling like we even fail at this! The Love You More podcast is here to support you in your personal journey towards being there for THE most important person in your life: YOU.

Ep 71: A Conversation with Grace Bell on Loving What Is

    Episode summary

In this heartwarming episode, Jen welcomes Grace to share her journey of helping people find peace through questioning their thoughts. Grace discovered this transformative approach through Byron Katie's work, which taught her that suffering comes from believing our thoughts as the single origin of truth.

The conversation flows naturally as Jen and Grace swap notes on how they each work with clients, diving into how thoughts contribute to suffering. Grace opens up about the delicate balance in her practice—combining factual education with compassionate support for people's relationship to their suffering, especially with issues like body image. They talk through what it's like to work with Grace and how she helps clients discover the peace that comes from loving what is. It's an authentic, relatable conversation between two people who genuinely get it.

    Episode summary:

ADHD Coach Juliet O'Rourke joins Jen all the way from the UK to talk about her work with women who have been diagnosed with ADHD. After her own diagnosis at age 50, Juliet was called to help other women change their relationship with their thoughts and to help them find ways to support themselves and celebrate the amazing things that the neurodivergent brain can do.

Juliet opens up about her struggle to accept and understand herself before her diagnosis and how she adapted to the new way of thinking about herself since finding out that she has ADHD. There was a certain grief and sadness knowing that she had hated herself for 50 years. It's through this lens and personal experience that she views the women she works with.
