The Orladno Magic flipped their narrative with their Game 1 win over the Detroit Pistons. The whole league now views the Magic as a sleeping giant. But the message from the team is that the work is not done. They were shouting "Don't drink the Kool-Aid" following the win, a clear sign the team is hungry for more and not resting on the laurels of their first road Playoff win since 2019.

The Magic did a lot of things well in their victory. None more than Wendell Carter's lock out of Jalen Duren. That matchup would always prove pivotal with Carter needing to space the floor and keep Duren occupied on defense and the Pistons' lack of scoring outside of star Cade Cunningham.

Orlando as a team left a lot on the board in Game 1. While they played an excellent game, nothing felt out of the ordinary and there were clear areas where the Magic could play even better as they look ahead to Wednesday's Game 2.

The Orlando Magic needed to put their frustrating regular season far behind them as they started their Playoff journey. Now in the Playoffs, they are starting to fresh. And starting with a win.

The Magic stunned the top-seeded Detroit Pistons with another energetic and intense defensive effort as they set the tone early behind Paolo Banchero and finished behind Franz Wagner's closing kick. They held off the Pistons for a Game 1 win and took the series lead in a way that feels replicable and feels like they are not done in this series.

Everyone contributed in the win. But the Magic's two stars led the way and outshined the Pistons to ensure the Magic bot the road Playoff win.
